bridetobe, on April 6, 2016 at 11:04 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 32

So today officially I have a sore throat Smiley sad when I get sick I tend to stay sick for a long time. Any advice?? Wedding is 2 weeks from Saturday.

Start using the coldeeze lozenges. I never believed my mom until i tried them and now I swear by them. Also...moonshine. Or something else strong. Haha.

If you are still feeling bad a couple days before the wedding, call your GP and see if they will give you a steroid shot. It will make you feel so much better the next day.

Sleep as much as possible. When I start getting sick I'll usually call out of work for a day and just sleep and I feel much better faster than I normally would.

Should go away in two weeks if it's just a cold. Gargle with very warm salt water.

I would go to your doctor honestly. There is a lot of strep throat and influenza going around this year. If you can't go see your doctor make sure you are taking your vitamins and keeping hydrated. Staying away from dairy will also help keep down the phlegm production if you feel like you are getting congested.

I'd honestly stay away from a steroid shot. They make my joints hurt like crazy. They make me bed ridden for a couple of days, achy joints is a side effect.

Raw organic apple cider vinegar. It's absolutely disgusting but it works everytime.

Zinc lozenges are one of the few things that can actually prevent a cold or help you recover faster from one. You want the lozenges rather than just pills, because they work in part locally on your throat as they go down.

Honestly I swear by airborne. I take it twice a day when I am sick and it usually lasts less than a week. Its gross but you just have to plug your nose and chug it. Be careful with a steroid shot, they gave me one once when I had mono and it made my skin go crazy. Same with antibiotics they can mess with your skin and birth control if you're on it. If it's just a virus it's not going to help anyway.
