Getting hair done for the wedding...?

McKenzie, on March 5, 2020 at 6:21 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9

For people that have already got married do you feel like getting your hair done day of is super important? I am so conflicted, I have already booked our make up artists, but I can't bring myself to pay 150 dollars to have my hair curled, I just want a loose curls super simple. I just don't know what to do.

This really depends on if you think you can do your own hair OR if someone in your party can help you do your hair the way you’d want

If you have someone that can do your hair and makeup or you can do it then don’t hire someone. I personally couldn’t make myself look the way I wanted so I paid for it.

Can you find an off-site salon to do your hair for cheaper?

I've read some BAMs where the bride regretting doing her hair/makeup herself because she was so nervous that it didn't end up looking the way she wanted. I think it's totally your call, but as someone who doesn't do their hair very often, I know I would be a ball of nerves and wouldn't be able to do a good job.

YouTube girl! I’d try to find some good curl tutorials and try out the looks you want yourself at home. If you like what you can do on your own skip the stylist. It will save you the money and you know how you like your hair to fall the better than a stranger will.

Do you curl your hair often? If you do - I say definitely do it yourself.

I think if you are good at curling your hair, just do it yourself! Or, take the time you have left to watch some YouTube tutorials and practice at home until you get good at it. I had planned on having a stylist to do my hair, but also decided on just loose curls. There is no way I am paying hundreds of dollars to have somebody do something I can do myself. So I am going to be doing my own hair, and having a professional do my make up

Yup! It was bloody expensive but I wanted to be pampered and as low-stress as possible (not really possible with a DIY wedding! 😆). Plus, unless you’re 100% confident in your skills I would just be worried the day of your wedding your hair just wouldn’t cooperate. Ugh. My wedding photos were too important for me to take that chance.

I am SO happy I was picky about my hair & makeup stylist and I spent the extra money on two trials & extensions & facial/hair treatments before the wedding. It looked great in pictures and just made me feel way more bridal. If we did it all over, I'd cut other areas in cost (like flowers or dessert) but not hair & makeup.
