Getting hair/makeup trial done/question

B2B2020, on August 12, 2020 at 9:31 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 18
So I'm really debating on doing this. Since we have the time. However because it is spendy and you look fabulous after , you of course wouldn't want your hubby to be , to see it. So do you just come home and wash it all off? Do most do bridal portraits afterwards? Go to dinner? Lol

Something I have always wondered

You could plan a night out with your friends for the same day you have your trial! That way, you get to see how it holds up throughout the day, and you don't have to wash it out right away. Otherwise, if you don't mind your fiance seeing the hair/makeup look, you could plan the trial for the same day as your engagement photos.

I just told him I tried a few hair styles and make-up looks and this was the last one I tried. Honestly, I doubt he'll probably even realize that what he saw me in was what I'll be doing on our wedding day.

I timed mine so that the hair trial was on the day of a formal event I had to go to. That way it had more than one purpose

My MOH scheduled mine for the day of my bachelorette (the bach was a surprise) so that I looked fancy for our night out.

I had my makeup trial the morning of my bridal shower, and I had my hair trial the morning of one of my dress fittings. I didn't worry about my husband seeing either though

I did my trial hair just when we could squeeze it in and he saw but I didn't really care. He's more concerned with not seeing my dress

I just came home & my husband saw me, then we went out to dinner. He saw my hair & makeup but there's no way it compares to when you're all done up in your dress/veil/shoes/jewelry on your wedding day. It didn't take away from it at all. I can't imagine not having a trial, I'd be super stressed.

Bridal portraits are regional so are only customary in certain areas. Why is the groom not supposed to see the hair/makeup trial? Never heard that anywhere and I couldn't imagine spending that much time and money to immediately wash it off. Dress up and have a date night at home with dinner delivered (many places are not open for in-restaurant dining).

1000% do not skip this point. I took a photo I was sure I knew what to have the artist do and we ended up modifying it til it felt right. Do what feels good to you; but I'd suggest seeing those that mean the most to you that and value their feedback. And FH might be so dense he doesn't know . . . 🤣🤣🤣 bonus to time it for photos or professional head shots or just a girl's night out.
