Nothing. Once you submit your marriage license and get your marriage certificate than you are married everywhere.

Submit the certificate in Ohio? Or after we move to Kentucky?? I just want to make sure that we have all of our bases covered we don't want to find out years from now that we wasn't married. We have read that marriage certificate doesn't transfer from State to state because each state has different laws on marriage

If you’re married in one state you’re married in all of them. Period.

You submit the certificate in the state you got married. It doesn’t matter where you live. A lot of people get married in a different state than where they reside.

I'm getting married in Pennsylvania, 60 days or less we apply for a marriage license, 3 days later we get that, we get married, it gets signed by the officiant and a few days later we turn it back into the court house and we'll get the marriage certificate back with an official seal on. Make sure to get extra official certificates as you'll need it for name change paperwork

We got married in NYC, but we live across the river in Jersey.

We applied for the license in NYC, got married in NYC, had our officiant mail it in... and so, we are married. Everywhere. The certificate was mailed to our home in NJ.

Really the only thing you might want to wait for is getting your social security card back with your new name on it. Then you should be all set to change all your other bills and your driver's license once you move to Kentucky. I'm moving states with hubby once we're married as well Smiley smile

Just submit the marriage certificate before you go on your honeymoon if possible. that way it will all be complete by the time you get back. then you're all set! Smiley smile
