Getting pregnant after depo

Forestwed, on December 13, 2017 at 10:54 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 12

Has anyone had experience with getting pregnant after stopping Depo shots? My Gyn said I?t can take up to 18 months to ovulate after the last shot. How long did I?t take you to conceive after stopping Depo? FH and I hoped to conceive ASAP after wedding but I didn't know I?t could take that long to ovulate. I'm 37 and I?t could potentially take so long Smiley sad

My last shot was a few weeks ago. I spoke with my Gyn this morning and she told me about the 18 months

I havent tried, but i have heard the same thing from my dr. Especially if you have been on it longer and your age. It may take a while.

I was on depo as a teen and my gyn recommended I stop in my early 20s because conceiving could be more difficult the longer you are on it and the older you are while on it. If it takes a while don't get discouraged.

I was on depo in college. Absolutely hated it, because i gained a ton of weight. I got my period back pretty fast though when I stopped getting depo. (Maybe a month after and the weight has fallen off since stopping it). I was on it for 3 years. I haven't had a baby or anything, but I wouldn't stress about it too much. Maybe just try to regulate your body naturally, by eating healthy, drinking a lot of water, and working out Smiley smile

I can off depo last year due to life changes and I was concerned with conceiving. Let me tell you it fucks you up. I was a hormonal mess. I entered a slight depression and I would cry at the drop of a hat. I cry maybe three times a year. It wears off but it was the craziest 2-3 months for me. I am now on the pill which has helped regulate and decrease the intensity of my periods

I went off of Depo after being on it for 5+ years, my OB told me I should get a period within a year and if not to let her know. Sure enough right at a year Aunt Flo came to visit. I think it all depends on you and how long you were on it. My Dr. said there was something they could try to make my period come if it was longer than a year after stopping.

I can't speak to Depo, but I was told it takes about 6 months after the pill...Let me be the example to say that once you stop taking precaution you had better be ready Smiley smile

I can't speak for the Depo but I got pregnant immediately after getting off of the pill. I know girls who took a long time to get a period after the pill so I am pretty sure everyone is different. I wouldn't worry though!

Everyone is different. I was on depo for years and got my period within a week of missing my shot. Had regular periods after that. Once you get a period get yourself some ovulation sticks to see if you are ovulating.
