Getting Ready: At Your Venue? Or Offsite?

Where are you getting ready at on your wedding day? Does your venue offer a space? Or are you going offsite (hotel, your house, salon, etc)?

Very cool! Spending the first part of the day at your mother-in-law's house will be a good way to ease into the rest of the day.

Got a honeymoon suite at a hotel with an ocean view and that is about 2 minutes from the venue. getting the guys a room there too to get ready and taking a few photos at the hotel then going to venue- shuttle for ladies and they will come back and get the guys... more photos at the venue then the festivities- I splurged and got the suite for 3 nights so we will sleep there night of the wedding and the next night- pricey but I thought it isn't like I am doing this ever again.

The venue has a spot for bridal party but it is right by where guests arrive so I don't want someone accidentally walking by while we are getting ready- that would suck!

I got ready at the hotel where our reception was held so at the end of the night we didn’t have to worry about driving, or transportation. It was more affordable than reserving the getting ready suites at our ceremony venue, and we would have had to worry about cleaning up and transporting things in between the ceremony & reception.

Ocean view rooms are so pretty!! Sounds like it'll be worth the splurge. Totally makes sense on why you don't want to use the bridal suite at the venue.

That's so convenient that you didn't have to worry about cleaning up everything while also trying to prepare for ceremony and reception! And not having to worry about driving is a bonus too. That's the only downside of the bridal suite at my venue, we are required to clear out the bridal suite before the ceremony starts. There aren't any hotels within a 20 minute drive from our venue, so we decided to use our venue's bridal suite to save on travel time.

I'm getting ready in a house which is close to our venue, and will stay there the night before with my sister and SIL who are my bridesmaids. Only one of the venues we looked at offered on-site getting ready accommodation and it didn't have a wet-weather option for the ceremony so we didn't really consider it.

I’m getting ready in the Airbnb 8 min drive from venue. My groom will get ready at the venue since he’ll have to bring our dog, the ring bearer! She’s an oldy so needs help in and out the car. Yet - I realize the bridal suite at venue (pretty dark) will be a grooms suite instead Smiley winking and totally fine with it Smiley smile

It seems to be a coin flip as to whether venues offer a bridal suite or not! I totally don't blame you for not wanting to book a venue that doesn't have an alternative in case of bad weather. The house sounds like a good idea! Lots more space than a typical bridal suite, and a bonus that it's close to the venue.

I love that your dog will be the ring bearer!! So cute! And I think it's a cool idea that the guys are getting ready at the venue and the girls are offsite. An Airbnb will usually have plenty more space than a typical bridal suite, so sounds like it will work out better for you!

My venue is at a nice hotel ...We will be on the 12 floor in a grand ballroom ...they offered us the two board rooms that are available at that time ...I'm staying at the hotel and my FH is staying at home.

My venue is a garden so there isn't a space to get ready. We are getting ready at the hotel a 5 minute walk away.

That's a short distance! Love the hotel idea, especially when it's close to the venue!
