Getting ready in hotel room?

Emily, on October 8, 2018 at 6:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 17
So my mom, my sister, and I are getting a hotel room the night before. The reason they’re getting a hotel room is because the live an hour and a half away. My FH will be staying at his brothers house. So he’s all set, and ready to go. I feel bad leaving my future sister-in-laws, mother-in-law, and niece out. How can I fit all of them in a hotel room? Do you think it would work? I want everyone to feel like family. Should I take the risk? PLEASE LEAVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS!

Is there an affordable suite available that will accomodate everyone? I picked a specific hotel because they only offer suites and have lots of affordable options. That way multiple people can stay, stop buy, and plenty of room for hair and makeup. Even an affordable room with 2 beds where people dont mind bunking up?

So we got a two queen size beds in a standard room. I don’t remember if there’s a sofa in it or not. I only have a makeup person coming, so that will help with the room. Should I just extend the offer and just let people know if they’d like to get ready there they can?

You could see if you can upgrade to a suite. If you have a lot of people staying at the hotel for the wedding they may accommodate you. If not, then maybe they can get a room next to yours. You guys can all hang out together the night before and then go back to your respective rooms when it's time to sleep.

If its one more person I would extend. With this many, I would just inform them of my plans and maybe suggest they book there

I was going to get ready in mine, but it can be tight, and I got a suite. So I got a conference room in my hotel, it was $100 for the whole day.

So you will have three people, plus the makeup artist/hair artist, plus a photographer?

i called my hotel, you can too! Just see if they think it’s big enough for to. 😁

If your FMIL, SIL & niece live locally would they not be able to come get ready with you in the am? Spend the night with your mom & sister and then the day with them all.

Yes! They do live locally and yes that’s what I would like. I’d like for them to get ready with me in the morning. I just wasn’t sure if it would be too tight for everyone in our hotel room in the morning.

Are you asking how to fit them in the hotel the night before or to get ready the day of? I don't think they would feel left out when you, as a bride, are getting ready with your own mother and sister. If you want to include them in getting ready, I would book the largest suite the hotel has available. The last wedding I was in, the bride booked a suite at the Hyatt and, while it was a little tight, we had about 10 people getting ready in the room just fine.

Hi Emily! Kristen gives some great advice here. Have you chosen or booked your hotel yet? As you could definitely ask the hotel's management about a suite or other options, that way you can include everyone. Smiley heart

Maybe ask the hotel if they have a room slightly bigger to get ready in. They may be accommodating. How can you say no to a bride on her wedding day?

I would suggest to get a suite that will accommodate you and your bridal party or 2 adjoining rooms.

There should be plenty of room. You won't be doing laps or anything but if you are just sitting on a bed/chair then there is room. There were 10 of us in my friends hotel room when she was getting married. (Not staying over, just getting ready) and there were a few moments when things were tight, but most of the time we were just sitting around drinking mimosas and watching bad television.

Going of PP, maybe look into a suite (tell them its your wedding maybe they will do a free upgrade?), or a conference room at the hotel. If they want to stay overnight the night before, maybe ask for adjoining rooms?

Have you thought about renting a house for the day instead ?? A lot of hotel rooms actually cost about the same if not actually the same or less (because of their fees that they have) compared to renting a house nearby. Check airbnb for houses in that area and compare prices.

Can you upgrade to a suite? Or two rooms connected? I agree, everyone should have the option to get ready together. If not, maybe ask the hotel if they can bring in some extra chairs to the room?

I personally would recommend not putting on your dress until you are at the venue. That way you can avoid any mishaps such as wrinkles, tears, spills etc. Invite who you wish to the hotel room but realize that not everyone may feel comfortable coming.
