Getting ready outfits for Bm’s

Amina, on October 16, 2019 at 9:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
Is it really necessary to provide clothing for the bridesmaids to wear while getting ready the day of? I have 10 girls and I can’t really find something that wouldn’t break the bank, especially for something they probably won’t wear again. My day is is early January and I was thinking of asking them to just wear plain black shirts and black leggings so at least they’re matching and they can wear something they already have. Anyone have thoughts or can think of something else small I could have for them? Maybe slipper socks or slippers?

I don’t think it’s necessary at all. Slippers would be cute though.

I am having my bridesmaids wear whatever they are comfortable in but I did buy them all matching slippers for while we get ready. And a pair for myself too! I got them on great sale online From Kohl’s so definitely a budget friendly option.

I say nope, absolutely not! I too am not fond of the idea of getting very “bridesmaidish” attire they can only wear for one day. I would just be careful not to strictly enforce any dress attire (some people are sticklers for the if it’s required then you buy it rule). I’m considering getting my girls a necklace (something that coordinates with my wedding, but that they could also wear again.) I’m also considering getting some cheaper sweat shirts on Black Friday and embroidering them with their initials and having the date small on the cuff of the sleeve so it’s memorable but an item they could use again. I did something similar for office gifts last year for Christmas, and it came around $7 a piece but I did it myself. (alternatively a bunch of people have machines that can cut heat transfer vinyl designs that can be ironed on clothes, if you happen to know someone you could probably do this route pretty cheap). I’ve heard of a bride having people bring blank T-shirt’s and decorate them like sometime before, which could be fun if you happen to have some time to kill the week of. Target had some cheap bridesmaids/brides hats ($2) not too long ago, headbands probably wouldn’t be too expensive either. One of my friends had a winter wedding, she bought big blanket scarfs at a sale in her wedding colors and had them embroidered, the girls were able to use them as wraps for pictures as well as scarves.

Slippers sounds cute and unless you care about those few pics with “matching clothes” I would let them wear whatever they are comfortable in. It’s definitely not worth stressing over.

No. My girls all wore what they wanted — comfy clothes that would be easy to get out of once their hair and make up were done. Not even important to be matching. We weren’t and my pictures are still cute.

I'm not getting my girls getting ready outfits! Like PP said, I want them to dress in whatever they feel more comfortable in! I think you'll be fine skipping any type of getting-ready apparel for them

Definitely not a necessity. They don’t need to match. I would just have them wear whatever is comfortable.

Nope not necessary at all! Tell them to wear whatever they are most comfortable in. That’s what I did with my girls.

I only had 3, so I bought them robes and comfy slipper socks in their favorite colors. Maybe you could find slipper socks that say Bridesmaid on the bottom?

Definitely not necessary! Especially when you have so many girls. I think asking them to wear what they’re comfortable in is the best way to go. Tell them since you’re taking get ready pics you’d like them to wear leggings and a dark shirt. Sounds reasonable to me!

It's not necessary and they definitely don't need to match. Let them get ready in whatever they're comfortable in. If you're worried about pictures, they'll still look fine. They're getting ready. If you want to have something nice for them socks, slippers or, a bridesmaid pen are all very cheap and affordable on Amazon or Etsy.

Etsy has robes that are super cheap and you can buy in bulk. Less than $7 I believe!

I think that is fine, and you don't need to provide them. I bought outfits for my 9 BM but it was an optional purchase for sure.

Not necessary. I did provide them with socks and shirts but that was as gifts not rly an expectation to wear it
