Getting Ready Pictures - Necessary or Not?

These were totally necessary for me.

There are some moments between my father and myself that make us both cry, and some truly wonderful shots of DH and his family.

Highly recommend, getting ready is usually just close friends and family, and you'll likely have a lot of tender moments.

Necessary for sure!!! We will be getting ready at a cute cottage in the village our wedding will be held and we need to capture all the fun and excitement. Already planning on decorating the house with tulle and a wedding wreath for the front door. I'm also going to make sure to have framed photo's of my bridal party and myself over the many years and adventures we have experienced together displayed in the house as well.

NECESSARY!!! I want to see before and after of every thing the day of my wedding.

Not necessary. i thought for sure i wanted them - but they didn't turn out quite as well as i would've liked. (not any fault of the photographers they were great) I like the idea of pictures in robes and putting on their attire. not photographing make up and hair being done.

100% NECESSARY. A lot goes into the day of and I want it all to be documented. It’s a lot of hard work and the getting ready portion can be quite emotional. Definitely needs to be documented.

I have my photographer for 8 hours. I think they are nice but not necessary esp on a budget. I can't really have them done as my hair and makeup will be hours before the wedding at the salon. Maybe when I'm getting dressed at the venue, some pics of lacing up the gown would be nice. I don't need to remember stuffing myself into my Spanx

While beautiful, not necessary

Mine was included in the package. I get a full 8 hours with both of my photographers. So getting ready will be included. I realized I may rarely ever have my makeup done by someone else more experienced, I won't have another moment of my mom zipping up my dress, or the look on my girls' faces after we all get ready, I want the small moments of behind the scenes basically. The small stuff that I may be too busy and not get to see.

I love photography so this is a necessity for me. We planned our photographer around her starting her hours with getting ready photos of both myself and FH. My FH also has a fun thing he’s doing with the guys while getting ready and I want photos of it. I am planning for an unplugged ceremony though. Hopefully everyone is compliant with that.

To me I feel like you should want have memories of everything on that big day.

Totally unnecessary!!! That’s the time when I want to chill and relax in a comfortable manner and not have photos taken (since pics will be taken all night).

This was one of the things we cut in order to save money. As much as I would love to have photos of this experience with my mom to look back on, it just wasn’t in the budget. Instead though, my maid of honor will take some pictures of us getting ready on her phone. I figured that would be sufficient since we will all probably look pretty rough before hair and make up LOL

Definitely necessary... the transformation is amazing and when put together in your wedding album gives him/her a glance of what goes on behind the scenes.

I definitely don't think it's a necessity... but it is something we are doing.

I will want them, but it's not something that must happen on wedding day.

I want to do it because i would love yo have it as a memory, and to show my daughter how happy we all were!

Not necessary and we probably won’t do it. We’re doing video too and they were surprised we didn’t want to include it since it will cut down on the footage. The only shot I really want is a pic of my mom and sister zipping up my dress

Not necessary in my opinion. I'll have one of my bridesmaids take pics on their phones if they want to. We're not going to be dressed up in robes or anything like that before we get dressed anyway. They're a waste of money.
