Getting Ready Pictures - Necessary or Not?

I found a Photographer that I had for the whole day! Yes it costed me more but that was the first thing I booked and found to me photos are the most important part!

I’m not getting any photos of getting hair and makeup done, but we’re doing a first look and I’ll have some photos of me putting on the dress for the first time and my family’s reactions

It's a matter of preference. I wanted to get getting ready photos done, but I think it will be more important for her to show up as I am putting my dress on and my fiance is getting tidied up. Those are the shots I want. We're not doing a first look until the ceremony, so those aren't a necessity for me, but I honestly don't want anyone snapping my pictures looking a mess. I am hoping hair and make up work on my girls first and I can snooze a bit more. we will get plenty of pictures on phones, and if you want to get fancy there's portrait mode lol

Only necessary if you feel this is an important moment you want to capture. It is part of our contract without having to ask or pay extra

Totally necessary. I want to be able to remember as much of this day as possible, and that means every step from getting ready to the last song that the dj plays.

Definitely not necessary but we are getting them. Our photographers are covering the whole day so I'm glad that in a few years I can look back and think about the singing and laughter that we shared while getting ready together!

I think it depends on the bride. Some want to be able to relive the magic of getting dolled up like a princess on their big day and it can help the photographer get used to shooting pictures of you, others don't want the photographer to see them in their pajamas, lingerie or a "silk" bath robe with only half their face done.

I definitely want to have these. That is a special moment I want to be able to look back on with my mom and FMIL, and all of my friends.

We'll just have one at the very end. I don't need someone there the whole time. I did get matching robes though, so it might be good to have that documented--just like a group picture at the end.

Not necessary at all! I don't think I will have any of hair and makeup, maybe just getting the final touches done and putting on the dress.

I wouldn't say necessary but it does look like fun and I plan on doing this for my wedding.

I'm having this. I guess it's not super essential, but I want the memories, I want the photos of the details before putting everything on. I want the candid smiles or rather silly faces. I'm always making a face. And honestly having the photographer there, someone I'm not super close to will keep me in-line. Yes, I could foresee some bridezilla moments.

It's important but not necessary. I would primarily like photos of the details (my dress, jewelry, bouquet, stationary, etc.) and that takes time!

For me, this is allllll the way necessary. This the one of the parts that makes the "I'm getting married" part real, before you put on the dress. When the dress come on the "this is it" moment takes over.

Totally not necessary, and I'm not doing them. I don't think I'll need pictures to remind me how I felt getting dressed. My photographer isn't really into posed pictures and neither am I. Besides, I have no clue what my schedule will be that day.

I say yes! I love looking at getting ready pictures and seeing the excitement and the special moments that those pictures capture!
