Getting ready with parents

It’s not weird at all. You should have whomever you want to be by your side as you get ready. I think having your parents there is very sweet!

That sounds nice to include them with getting ready with you! My mom declined getting ready with me so my FMIL and FSIL will be joining me with my MOH

Why would it be weird? It's not like you're going to be doing hair and make up in your scanties.

I do have a question about the driving though - if you are driving them to the wedding, who is taking them *home*? (Mostly just something to think about the logistics of)

Then you're all set - FWIW - I think your dad will be pleased to be included while you're getting ready. If your photographer is going to be there for any of the getting ready time, you may get some really sweet pictures from those moments.

I did not have a bridal party, no MOH, so I had my mom come to my room to help me button the back of my dress and we took photos together with our photographer. My husband got ready at his parent’s house and his mom and dad helped him put on his suit and tie and the photographer took photos of this!


It was perfect for us!
Maybe since you’re so close to your dad you could do a “first look” with your dad?

My dad and stepmom were in the getting-ready room with us. We have some fun pictures of my dad and I talking as I got my hair and make up done, and some really nice pictures of my parents helping each other with hair/accessories.

My dad and bridesman stepped out while I got into my dress, to be polite (I wouldn't care, I'm in theatre, I've def had some quick changes where the only person available to help was male).

If YOU want him there, that's your answer.

I think it sounds cool ! In my country there's actually a tradition that the groom has to come to get the bride at her parents' house, so naturally she gets ready with them.
