Getting ready

Carrie, on October 24, 2022 at 7:58 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

Good morning y’all!! I know I have posted about this but still stressed and don’t know what to do. I really want a bridal suite. It’s one of those little things that I desperately want just because I want all the before pictures with us getting ready and all. Then I want the pictures for the guys as well. Ceremony and reception is at a new place that just starting to have weddings it’s outside with a pavilion.

Need ideas do decor it. Or if I need to do it. I just thought if I got the tents everyone be on the grounds where we getting married at so we can be there for the photographer instead different places. Wedding in NC April 29th.

Has anyone done a Bridal suite/ groomsmen/ tent?

General idea… a 10×10 tent….with one big table and chairs for each one of us.

Find several cute, mismatched, antique-y chairs and mirrors that would work great for this. Find a tall full body mirrors we could stick in there. A little card table for mimosas or bellinis and a snack tray for before hand. They’ve also got outdoor extension cords to set up a fan and plug in lights/curling irons and such. My photographer has a rug and a cute old couch I thought we would use she said we could.

Then sticking a little “No Boy’s Allowed” sign on the outside of it.

So… then for his do something similar but not go all out.

If you did it, and have pictures that you’re willing to share…please do!!!

Truthfully, I think that would be a lot of stress and work to set it up to be a functional space for getting ready. Even with everything you mentioned, there isn’t direct access to a sink or restroom. Large mirrors need solid walls to rest against or hang from. Also, it would be difficult to get the appropriate lighting for make-up purposes. I would recommend a nearby hotel room or suite.

I m staying the night before in a hotel near the venue and getting ready in that suite in the morning with my mom and ladies, we ll be spending the wedding night and the following night in that room together as well. He's getting ready with his brothers and other groomsmen at his mom's beautiful house which just happens to be super close to our venue.

The tent idea sounds cute in theory but I d worry it might be tricky getting ready as a bride comfortably in a tent. Also make sure you d have electricity for hair tools. Whatever you decide , best of luck to you!

I have to agree. There are so many details you are going to be worrying about in the weeks and days leading up to your wedding, and I think this would add way too much time and stress to your plate. Not to mention, it sounds like a logistical nightmare with infinite possibilities for things to go wrong. If capturing “getting ready” pictures is HUGELY important to you, I would highly suggest either getting ready at somebody’s home, or renting a hotel suite for that purpose.

How about searching up local cheap airbnbs that you guys can book to get ready in? You can book for two nights that way maybe just you or and your bridesmaids can spend the night there the night before the wedding and then get ready there all day or maybe you can reach out to the Airbnb host and ask for special accommodations to just book for the full day. Just a thought! Best of luck 🥂

I only had one photographer. He went to capture photos of my husband getting ready at his parents home and then left to come to my hotel to get pictures of me. Then an hour later my husband came to my (our hotel) and we did first look photos.

I agree with previous posters that setting up tents seems too stressful and not worth it without bathrooms and climate control.

Good luck w whatever you decide!!!

We got ready at the hotel we stayed at the night before the wedding. I think that’s a great alternative that can still look good in pictures but not be so stressful, expensive to put together.
