Congrats & welcome to WW! I love these forums on WW but have seen way too many people having issues with the personal domain they purchased through here so I wouldn’t do that. I have The Knot for my wedding website & checklist. Keeps me on track & is very user friendly.
Have you discussed guests & budget? Where is your venue? You might have picked your date but until you’ve booked your venue it’s not really yours.

View Quoted Comment We are looking at venues now. We have access to both of our churches of the others we are looking at doesn’t pan out. Budget discussion is going to happen tonight and tomorrow. Roughly 100 guests is what we are planning for. I downloaded the knot too!!! I haven’t jumped on there fully to see everything it has to offer yet. Thank you so much!!!!!

With everyone having to postpone my venue was the first thing I jumped on! My date is September 23rd, 2022. Im in Northern CA and did notice that venues are starting to get a little more packed. So that would be the first thing I would focus on. Luckily my venue includes a lot of things (DJ, Cake, Coordinator) So basically I'm almost done until closer to a year out. During this "down time" i've been saving a lot of ideas to Pinterest and have gotten my bridal proposal boxes together

Budget and guest list are first to-do's. Talk about if you want kids or no kids invited. My fiancé and I have been talking it slow and going piece by piece so I don't overwhelm him with planning and my excitement! Also, I have seen a lot of people who focus on their wants and forget this is a wedding for 2 people. Don't forget to take your groom's opinions into account!


As far as staying calm, I pour my excitement into searching out ideas on Pinterest and then filtering through what I just like versus what is an option for my own wedding. There is a lot of advice, planning guides, etc on there too. I also occasionally bombard my sister or my mom with wedding talk and they have been good about listening when I need a sounding board.

View Quoted Comment It can be hard to balance including him without overwhelming him. My fiancé is the same but, as we talk more about plans, I have discovered one or two things he has REALLY strong opinions on. Like the date, he wants 2/22/22 because it's a Two's-day... The rest he doesn't care so long as I am happy.


My process is to come up with two or so options and casually ask if he has an opinion. Sometimes he says he doesn't care and occasionally he latches onto something and then is happy he was involved.

I am in the same boat. I have officially moved from super excited to super stressed. I never noticed how much 1 year can feel like no time. thank you for this thread!!!

This was really helpful. I felt like the meme of Mr.Crabs this whole week like where should I start. I spent time before getting engaged thinking about our wedding and once the engagement happened was like a deer in head lights lol.
