Gift for Glam crew

Natalie, on September 12, 2021 at 10:32 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10
I was thinking about giving gifts to my hair stylist and makeup artist who will be glamming me up the day of the wedding. Any suggestions? And also those who are tipping how much do you think is appropriate in addition to what is alrdy being paid? Thanks.

I would think they would most appreciate a big tip. I tipped my hair / makeup people 20%.

Stick with a cash tip - standard 15-20%.

No need to give a gift to someone you are hiring for a service. A tip is appropriate.

I agree with others, instead of a gift on top of the tip, just beef of the tip however much you would have spent on the physical gift.

To answer the second part of your question, industry standard for tipping hmua is 15-20%. I plan to tip my artists 20%, and of course provide food and beverage for them, as well as pay their parking fees.

Give them a 20% cash tip and leave it at that. Unless they are a personal friend outside of a hired vendor, a gift would be kind of odd, in my opinion.

Don’t waste any time, money or energy on a gift beyond a 20% cash tip. I also of course let my HMU know she could enjoy the coffee and breakfast I had brought in for my bridal party.
I will say, in addition to the 25% tip I gave my photographer, I bought her and her second shooter gifts on our honeymoon and shipped them to them. They went so far above and beyond it’s not funny and I thought they’d appreciate something small and fun from Hawaii.

A tip is perfect. Plus an awesome review online.
