Gift for the Groom on Wedding Day

Kolby, on October 5, 2017 at 11:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 36

I am already thinking ahead to potential gift items to give my FH on our wedding day. I know that typical gifts include a watch, custom cufflinks etc. But my dilemma is that my FH does not wear watches (only an Apple watch) and he does not dress up enough to wear cuff links. I am seeking some advice on potential gift ideas that are unique for a laid back man. Only doing this early so that I can save and budget properly if the item is on the expensive side.

    Doesn't need to be expensive to be thoughtful.

    What are his hobbies, what does he like to do?

    DH and I decided not to give gifts to each other. The gifts of a husband and a wife to each other was more than enough haha. However, I did decide to write him a letter for him to read the day of. He said he loved it and that he teared up reading it.

    I'm having the same problem, my FH never got a letterman's jacket so I was thinking of getting all his patches and ordering it for him but I'm not sure it that's a good idea.

    I thought it would be cute to find a penny the year you were married and make a key chain out of it. And of course write a beautiful letter Smiley smile

    @Stephanie I really like that!

    OP it doesn't have to be expensive, just make sure it's something he'd appreciate. I'd honestly say it doesn't even have to be "romantic". I got my husband a framed art print based off one of his favorite movies, signed by the director. It was pricey, but probably not what anyone would consider romantic and he loves it.

    He's of course into football and baseball ( the Orioles and Ravens). He already has so much team memorabilia I did not want to add anything else that will collect dust.

    My friend got her husband tickets to the PGA tournament because he loves golf and it was local. They made a trip out of it and stayed at a B+B

    I got this and filled it out. It takes some time and thought to fill in the blanks.

    You know him better than anyone here does. What does he like to do? It's not about the amount of money you spend, it's about the thoughts and sentiment behind it.

    I would have to say that you know him better then anyone here, so use that. Your gift doesn't have to be the "typical" gift. If he likes a certain sports team then maybe tickets to a game, beer lover, then tickets to a beer tasting event. I think you can get the idea. As for me I'm doing boudoir photos for my FH. I know he will love them.

    I did a boudoir shoot for FW. She will get her "little black book" with a majority of the pictures in it on our wedding day.

    I purchased an engraved tie clip for FH. It has our wedding date on it. He dresses up in a tie maybe 5 or 6 times a year at work.
