Gift ideas for sister/friends

Dianna, on April 13, 2021 at 1:23 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 1 4
Hi - I am not having a bridal party, so no maid of honor or bridesmaids, but I want to get a gift for my sister and 2 close girl friends who would have been in my bridal party if I had one. What are some good gift ideas?

I would encourage against this. It’s a sweet gesture but you decided not to have a bridal party and sending people gifts on this basis may send mixed signals. If my friend didn’t have a bridal party but sent me a gift on the basis that I ‘would have been a bridesmaid’ if she had one, I’d probably be taken aback and wonder whether I would be expected to do anything in return.

I agree with above poster, why don't you just do a brunch with them before you get married - gifts aren't necessary

I agree with this idea! You could treat them to brunch the day before the wedding, or a spa day shortly before the wedding day, or really any other activity. I would probably avoid giving them a tangible gift though.

I agree with others. The purpose of the gifts to the bridal party is to thank them for the time and money they spent for being a part of the bridal party. If you don't have a bridal party, then there isn't any reason to give them a gift. I like the idea of the brunch if you want to do something.
