Gift Ideas

Gifts for parents are not required and many don't give any. But those who do tend to give photo albums when the photographer has wedding prints ready.

I bought picture frames with our names & wedding date on them.

I was going to get both sets of parents wedding albums of our photos and maybe framed photos from the wedding.

I'm trying to get my FI on board with this, but we were thinking of getting our parents coolers!

I want to get something personalized for my parents from me before they "give me away". I know they'll appreciate it as I've always given them similar thank you gifts for my major milestones like graduations, etc.

I got my mom a jewelry holder from Etsy with the following phrase inside "Today a bride, tomorrow a wife, always your daughter. Thank you for being the best mother and inspiration."

Not sure what to get my dad yet. He won't use a handkerchief or anything like that. But I found the following saying online and I really want to use it: "Thank you for walking by my side not only today, but always. You are the first man I ever loved, and as you give me away, know that I will always be your daughter."

We're paying for FMIL's hair and make up and not sure about FFIL yet. I'll get printed photos for both sets of parents after, but that was kind of a given to me.

We plan to gift our parents a date night - gift cards to their favorite restaurant and maybe a fun activity included!

We got the fathers limited editions of their favorite alcohols and the mothers got necklaces

We got a nice card for my ILs and then gave a triptych of wedding pictures for Christmas.

My dad, I found an elephant paperweight at the Zoo, and he loves them, plus an old picture of the two of us. My stepmom, when asked, specifically requested a reusable bottle from DH's workplace, so when we found one, we snatched it up.

They aren't required, simply nice gestures. If you do buy them any, shop as if it is their birthday.

Since neither of our parents aren’t contributing to the wedding so we are keeping it small - for the moms we got handmade trinket/ring dishes with “Mother of Bride/Groom” and our wedding date. And for the dads we got them ties with custom patches inside with a meaningful quote. We’ll probably gift frames with photos for that Christmas since our wedding is in October.
