Gift Registry Welcome Message / Not living together

Where are you registering that it gives you the opportunity to put in a welcome message (neither of ours did lol)? I think you can just put something about wanting matching things or that you're excited to use the items together, not necessarily that you "need" them. Remember if people don't buy registry items (or not all items are purchased) then you can usually get a registry fulfillment discount.

Target and William Sonoma has a tiny part at the top that lets us "Add a welcome message"

And oooh you're right! I believe certain registries let you mark items as "most wanted". Maybe I can utilize that! Great idea. The discount is definitely nice!

So, depending on the number of characters you get you could put something like: "Welcome to our registry! We look forward to having things that are ours, not his or hers."

Bed sheets, bath towels, kitchen appliances (blender, kitchen aid mixer, dish set, serving utensils and platters... we lived together before and had everything but these are great upgrades!

I would just flag the "most wanted" items using the registry feature and leave it at that

If someone is close enough to be invited to your wedding, they probably know that you don’t live together. As a guest, I’ve never noticed or read a welcome message for a registry. I like PP’s idea of marking your most wanted items.

I agree with Caytlyn. A welcome message seems unnecessary. Your guests should be your closest family and friends so they should already know you don't currently live together. I would just mark the items you really want as your most wanted.
