Gifts for my parents and in-laws

Paige, on September 23, 2020 at 8:49 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 9

Hey yall,

What did everyone get their parents and in-laws for their gifts? And is that something that has to absolutely have to happen? I have seen the engraved cups/wine glasses, necklaces, bracelets etc. Did any of you get gifts that were not so common?

I would say the gifts are nice but not necessary. Maybe a personalized glass or something practical for what they like?

I was planning on providing both sets of parents with their own copy of the wedding album / professional pictures.

I bought picture frames that had little sayings on them for the moms along with embroidered handkerchiefs and we got engraved pocket knives for the dads. We also purchased parent albums from our photographer to give to each set of parents.

We kept it simple and did really nice wedding photo albums for both of our parents once we got our pictures back, and made sure to have special moments of thanks with them on our wedding day!

We are getting both sets of parents the same gifts: A nice picture frame and hand written letters thanking them for everything they have done in our lives as well as their help with the wedding.

I got my future mother in law a bracelet with a charm that says “thank you for raising the man of my dreams”. After the wedding we will probably be gifting her some sort of spa or nail gift certificate. We are incredibly thankful for her and she is so helpful to us. I think if your/his parents have been extremely helpful or supportive throughout your relationship a gift would be extremely nice.

We decided to write our parents letters thanking them for everything they have done. We each wrote 4 letters so each parent received a letter from me and from my fiancé. We knew our parents would rather get sentimental gifts than physical gifts.

My parents are paying for our entire wedding so we're gifting them a trip to wherever they want/feel comfortable going.
