Gifts for Wedding Party

Allison, on March 10, 2022 at 1:04 PM Posted in Planning 17 10

What's everyone getting their bridesmaids? I'm looking for something unique that they'll use more than once. Thanks!

I got each of mine a tote bag, first aid/hangover kit, a wine glass, a thank you note, picture frame, and then 1-2 things that align with their personal interests and are not intended to be used for the wedding (such as, a jewelry travel case, camping mug, makeup bag, fancy bookmark, jewelry set, etc).

So far I got them a personalized tote bag with their name on it. To go inside, I got each a velvet hair scrunchie, and a pair of flip flops with cute patterns. I'm in search for some champagne gummy bears and another candy that they'll like. Still might get one more thing, like a bath/spa item.

Avoid everything on Pinterest or Amazon that is marketed as bridesmaid gifts: clutches, totes, tumblers/glasses, clothes, jewelry, etc. Anything meant to be worn at the wedding (clothes/hair/makeup/jewelry) are props and not gifts for them.

The best thing you can do is shop for each woman individually as if it is her birthday. What are her personal interests and hobbies? Does she like to bake, camp, do crafts, read, etc? Get something related to that.
As a bridesmaid over the years, I have received all of the typical things and they go in the goodwill bin. The rare few times I have received something related to my personal interests that was not wedding related, I have kept them.

I m getting my girls a gift certificate to a spa near them that they can use whenever they want and I m make jewelry so I m setting their birthstones in a necklace and earrings set. May throw some fun little thing in there. Etsy has some lovely ideas. My friend gave her bridesmaids cute makeup bags with sassy sayings on them and filled them with fun travel sized beauty items, a Terry cloth headband, a Sephora card and a cute pair of earrings. What's your price point and do you want to get the same thing for all your girls?

I found these fabulous black glittery Kate Spade tote bags on super clearance, so I snatched those up with cosmetic bags to match. I’m also going to throw in a bottle of booze, some grippy socks for them to have at the reception, and maybe a cozy velour set to wear while we get ready (it’s going to be cold in February).

My aunt found really nice jewelry sets I thought that was nice for them to have as a keep sake and they can wear them for other occasions/anytime. Also, I bought them robes and I added a thank you notes for being a part of my wedding.

I made pearl bracelets with charms personalized to each person. For the men, I'm making bracelets out of wooden beads with personalized leather charms. Everyone will get a wine tumbler with their name on it (to be used for mimosas while getting ready) and a non-personalized pajama set. We'll also be paying for hair and makeup and are doing wedding party proposal boxes. Those have candles, wine, candy/cookies, a succulent, and a book.

I’m not having BMs but I have a huge squad who technically would have been my BMs if I went in that direction so I am gifting them corsages from Lings and Tiffany Bracelets.

Shop for them like it's their birthday. Things for the wedding like photo props or special getting ready outfits shouldn't be considered gifts really, because they're still for you,
