Gifts for wedding you aren’t having because crazy pandemic broke out and the world is canceled

Lauren, on March 18, 2020 at 8:36 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
Yeah. That. We’re postponing our May 2 wedding because of, well everyone knows the hot topic. Anyway, we’re doing a JOP wedding on May 15 instead, and then planning a ceremony and reception on our 1 year anniversary. We are registered for the wedding, but I’m wondering if I should remove my registry? Put it up again next year? Leave it up now? Only my children will be present at the JOP. There’s no way to even get all of our parents there and keep it under 10 people. I feel greedy leaving it up, but my family likes to give gifts...I’m not sure how his will see it. He says leave it, because we are getting married, and the postponement isn’t our choice.

I say leave it since you’re still planning on getting married!

I agree with PP's, I say leave it up since you've already made it. The only way it would seem greedy is if you were to send out marriage announcements regarding your private ceremony and then say "also we're registered here" lol Smiley smile

I say leave it up!! If I were on your original invite list I'd definitely want to send you something special, regardless of your new date! Smiley heart

I’d just leave it up! Then remake one for your actual celebration.
