Gifts for your husband on your wedding day - need ideas!

Lauren + Ryan, on June 16, 2015 at 3:43 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 37

Hi ladies. I'd love to hear what you got your husband for your wedding. I think we are doing gifts and what I'd like to get him is out of my budget. That said, I'd love to hear your ideas. Thanks!

I was thinking about getting him once in a lifetime seats at a Yankees game. Is that too impersonal if it isn't a tangible item? He doesn't wear watches. The only jewelry he'll ever own will be his wedding ring and he doesn't do ties, like ever.

I did a boudoir photoshoot and made a photobook for him. I had the photobook wrapped on the bed when we got back from our reception to our hotel suite. It was a total surprise and he absolutely loved it.

I got FH a key chain with his dads handwriting off of etsy. I found a card that said some nice stuff on it and his dads signature. I also bought a notebook and have been writing in it since the day we got engaged. Poems, things we do, lyrics, quotes...anything. I like sentimental, neither gift cost me a lot but he will love them.

We are getting each other cologne/perfume to wear on our wedding day with the thought that when we smell it in the future, it'll take us back.

Haha, I know right?! We usually sit nose bleeds and it's still a good time, but it would be awesome to get him in front. It would be an awesome experience for sure

I would love to get FH a watch but the ones he likes are way out of my price range. I feel like gifting guys are harder! He could get me some chocolates with a handwritten card and I would love that.

I kept a "gratitude journal" during planning where I listed on thing every day (for a year!) that I was grateful for about him.

Considering how much of a strain wedding plan can be on a relationship it really helped me stay focused on why I was marrying him, in addition to making a great gift!

Staci- Such a beautiful idea! Where were you months ago when we got engaged?? haha

I am going to get my FH a very nice percolator or espresso machine. We are both coffee lovers and he's been wanting those forever! Also a bigger french press. Smiley smile

Staci, great idea. Unfortunately a little too late for me, though I suppose I could start now.

@MrsBest2B, I'd love tickets too! I'd make sure they were tangible tickets (not the print at home kind) and then would take a photo(s) at the game...frame the ticket stubs along with the photos for your first anniversary.

I think tickets is a great idea! I will be giving my Boudior photos/book the night before the wedding and will be gifting him a watch right before the ceremony Smiley smile I can't wait!

I'm doing boudoir photos too, I won a package at a charity auction. I just don't know if I want to give him that before our wedding. And the watch I want to give him is just too much, so any other watch will seem like settling, if that makes sense.

@Melissa, I love the idea of the keychain with the handwriting.

I bought my fiance a piece of jewellery because it's customary in my heritage to do so and I wanted to buy him a nice piece of jewellery. It's a black diamond watch from gucci, I figure it will become a family heirloom and our son will one day wear it with the memory we created around it.

I'm not as good as Staci or Melissa but I started writing in a little journal every day since the 99 day mark. I put our countdown, the date, and a little something he did that day to remind me why I want to marry him. I'm torn as to when to give it to him. The night before or the morning when tell photographer is there so I can see what he looked like when he opened it? Not sure yet!

My fiance and I are really into dungeons and dragons, so I was planning on getting him a nice set of gaming dice. Probably a silver or gold plated set, but I'd love to find other types of materials.....
