Gifts for your spouse on the day?

Kristen, on October 9, 2020 at 8:05 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 39

Good morning lovelies. I wanted to ask if anyone gave a gift to your significant other the day of the ceremony? If so, how did you present it to them? I am looking for any creative ideas. Would love to hear your stories. Thank you.

Mine isn't anything special, though I'm planning to ask my MOH to bring the gift I'm getting my fiance over to the room where the guys are getting ready before our first look. I'm going to have it wrapped in a cute bag, but otherwise nothing too fancy.

That was basically my thought. I was going to do a sentimental card but I figured that is not him so I wanted to write something a little funny and lighthearted. My MOH's hubby will be there and they get along so I figured maybe he could bring it to him?? What do you think? Figured would be nice for pics too.

My husband always has problems with his feet being cold- tall guy problems- so I got him socks that said "in case you get real cold feet". I also got him some cufflinks for a not cheesy present, and I put both in a box that said "leveling up to husband".

I got my wife an engraved watch and gave it to her during our first look.

Oooooh that box sounds cute. The problem with us is that if we want something we get it so shopping for each other is hard lol. Doing stuff together is easy but gift shopping is different. I got him a personalized whiskey glass since he loves whiskey and I wanted to get him a bottle of a recent whiskey he likes plus a shot of it. I was thinking on the card to say do not get too lit before the ceremony....we have an evening celebrating ahead of us. LOL.

Oooooh that sounds great. I want to get him a really nice watch some day. Maybe I will do that for a future Christmas gift.

I don't plan on giving a tangible gift to my FH on our wedding day. He is my gift and I am his ❤

Buwhahahahaha. Valid point. It is me just being cheesy. I know he is not thinking about gifts at all ha ha. Now the dinner bill after the ceremony will be his gift to me and probably driving me home ha ha

I think having your MOH's husband bring him the gift would be a perfect idea! Great way to include him. I like the idea of a funny/lighthearted card too! I agree on the photos, I'm always looking for great photo ideas. I think the getting ready/exchanging gifts or cards/first look photos are some of my favorites that I see from weddings!

I did boudoir photos and put them in a watch box.
We spent the night apart, so I left it In the guest bedroom at our house. I was too excited for him to open it so I had him open it while on the phone with me before our rehearsal, haha 🤣

Our wedding is this Saturday and we exchanged gifts last night because we wanted to see each other open them. We also have my kids gifts as well so we all opened them as a family together.

We also wrote letters to each other that we will hand off tonight at the rehearsal to our MOH and BM. They will give us the letters tomorrow morning for us to read and get some good photos of. We are not doing a first look with each other.

Awwww that is cute. He has no idea that he is getting a gift. I have a lot of surprises for him that day. I want him to enjoy the day and feel special.
