Giving Birth before Wedding

Aurelia, on August 24, 2019 at 12:26 PM Posted in Planning 1 13
So i found out I am pregnant, my wedding is on July 4th 2020. My baby will come between March and May which makes me less stressed.
That means I have to work extra hard to loose weight to fit in my dress. I am glad I ordered 1 size bigger, and pregnancy wasn't our plan before the wedding, but its beautiful. Does anyone have Working out Tips for Postpartum? And any general tips?

If you plan to breastfeed it really helps to drop the baby weight.

I think the biggest thing will be allowing yourself to appreciate your body for what it is after baby comes. While it's true breastfeeding does help some, it doesn't for all. Typically, you have a 6-8week wait, sometimes longer, before your dr will clear you to work out. You don't want to put more stress on yourself or your body after baby comes as that can only make things worse. You are so beautiful now and you will be so beautiful after!

Congrats! You probably won’t be able to work out for a couple months after you give birth so you’ll just need to focus on what you’re eating to lose the weight. But try not to be so hard on yourself and get the dress altered if you need to. Good luck!

Congrats! Breastfeeding did nothing for me beside make me hold the weight. Everyone is different. The advice I would give would be gain only the recommended amount of weight with your pregnancy. I didn’t care how much I gained because I’ve always stayed skinny without even trying, however it didn’t work out like I planned. I was put on bed rest around 20 weeks and gained 65lbs total. I am still 7lbs shy of my pre pregnancy weight. My son will be 3 in October 😬 just eat very healthy through your pregnancy and if you already work out you can continue to workout throughout your pregnancy which would help too.

If it's early in the pregnancy, a lot of doctors will say its ok to workout (obviously nothing extreme) and stay fit during the pregnancy. That helps with post pregnancy weight.
    Btw congrats on the baby!!!

Between March and May? Thats a big span. Assuming you are due in April, that leaves you 12 weeks. You can totally get back into shape in 12 weeks.
After my first it took me a lot longer, but with my second I knew what i was doing and I was back in my clothes by the time she was 4 months and I didn't even try hard.
Key is, don't gain more than what's necessary to have a healthy baby. With my first I gained almost 50 lbs and it took me 2 years to loose it all. With my second I gained 21 lbs and she alone weight 7.5 lbs. I also breastfed her and that was a huge help. It turns all the excess fat into milk. Good luck to you and enjoy all of it. It's such a magical time.

You need a maternity wrap — i forget what they are called it’s like a post-labor belly wrap or something — kind of like a stretchy corset you put on RIGHT after you deliver and it help bring everything back together tightly (I didn’t use one, but two of my best friends did and they both snapped back into pre pregnancy body)

How amazing! Children are the absolute biggest blessing.
So, if you have a natural birth typically can go back to working out within weeks. If you have a c-section(like I did) you won’t be allowed to for 6-7weeks after. That takes a while to heal. My best suggestion would be to watch what you eat now and workout as best you can now. But don’t get frustrated. Your body can do wonderful things. And everyone’s body is so incredibly different.
