Giving Bridesmaids Gifts at the Bachelorette Party

ArwenToHisAragorn, on June 19, 2018 at 10:18 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 16

Hi everyone! I just got the dates for the weekend of my bachelorette party. It will be about 3 weeks before the rehearsal dinner, which means a little under a month before the wedding. I know it's typical to give bridesmaids gifts at the rehearsal dinner but I think the things I got my girls will come in handy for the weekend (tote bags, tumblers for drinks, t-shirts they wanted, bottles of wine), but I also got them each jewelry to wear the day of. I'm wondering if I should hold off, give part of it to them at the bachelorette, or give it all at the same time?

While it may be more customary and convenient to receive it all at once, I don’t see the problem with separating. Especially, since you have some items that you may want for the weekend like wearing your shirts and using the tumblers! Just save the day of stuff for the rehearsal dinner..they’ll be more surprised lol

ArwenToHisAragorn, sounds like you're taking good care of your girls! You could go either way on this, but here's my personal opinion: the bachelorette party items are in one category and the jewelry is so different. I would hold off on the jewelry so it stands out instead of being overshadowed by the excitement of the bachelorette festivities. This is totally up to you- and you know your girls! I'd love to see their weekend gear if you're up for sharing!

Sounds like your girls are going to be extremly excited....i like the idea of separating the gifts....the jewelry would be perfect as a second gift and it will totally take the girls by surprise...I say go with it🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Separate them! And way to go on getting them so much! I’m so freaking out about what to get my girls and not going over budget! But I would let them know not to worry about having to buy jewelry. Of course it’d be better as a surprise but I’d hate for them to shop for and buy jewelry for them to not need it after all.

I’ll definitely share when I give everything to them! When I first got engaged they had joked about wanting shirts with quotes from Bridesmaids they had seen somewhere so I’m having those made for them. I think I’ll separate everything and stuff the totes right before the weekend to give to them on the way Smiley smile

Are the bridesmaids going to be the only people at the bachelorette besides you? It could be awkward if their are other guests, and the bridesmaids are the only ones receiving gifts. I would save anything that is actually a bridesmaid gift ( in other words nothing they are expected to use or wear on your wedding day for your pictures) to give at the rehearsal dinner.

That’s true, I didn’t think of that with the jewelry. I should probably let them know lol. I had a pretty tight budget but the Etsy shop I got the totes and tumblers from was really affordable. It’s PersonalizedGiftsByJ if you’re interested!

    I would separate them too.

I did a gift for my shower (at the end of the shower), gifts for my bach during my bach weekend and gift for the wedding on my wedding day, in the am. I actually did not have a rehearsal and we were too busy having fun the night before so I completely forgot the gifts!

That's a good point. I'm almost 100% sure that it's just the bridesmaids (they've only given me the date and location, that's about it lol).

I think both work awesome! I'd just let them know if you want them to bring anything to getting ready for the wedding time so they know (shirts to wear, tumblers, etc.)

I think it’s a great idea to separate the gifts! That way they’ll have more surprises! Give the stuff the my can use at the bachelorette party there and then the wedding stuff on the night of the rehearsal dinner OR the day of when they’re getting ready with you for cool surprised- look pictures of them opening their gifts from you and those Hug pics are so cute!

I gave my girls a monogrammed tank top and a monogrammed wine tumbler as a thank you gift for the bachelorette party (and for pictures). I will be giving them another gift at the rehearsal dinner.
