Giving the Officiant the Rings

My question is HOW? --Up to you. I mean I know our officiant will check in with us pre ceremony so that would be a good time I think. I would call and ask your officiant what he prefers? Do we give him just the plain bands to keep in his pocket loose (he is a trusted family member)? Ask him but I would keep it in something like a nice box or bag. I plan to for my MOH.

Or do we give them to him in a ring box? How large of a box is appropriate? Does not matter. Just like a simple ring box.

And what happens to my engagement ring? Up to you. I will wear mine and many brides do.

Do I wear it before the ceremony on my ring finger and then my fiancé puts the wedding band next to it?

I'd put them in a box, or if you can't get one on short notice then a little pouch should do.

For the engagement ring, I am going to just wear it and have my FH put the band on over it, and then a little later I will sneakily switch them into the right positions. I wear the promise ring he gave me a few years ago on my right ring finger, otherwise I would put the engagement ring there for during the ceremony.

TBH I'm not sure there is any sort of ring etiquette for during the ceremony??? But I'm also relatively clueless lol

View Quoted Comment Well the wedding was September 4 but we postponed. I was in the works of getting them soldered back in March just to get it over with but then disaster struck. I plan on doing it by June of next year for sure and just buying a random ring from Etsy or something to wear in its place until wedding day
