Glass Coaster for wedding favor website?

Michael, on May 8, 2016 at 6:26 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22

Hey Guys,

My fiancee and I decided on doing Glass Coasters. The first one that popped up on google is "www.myweddingfavors.com" We saw it but before I did anything, i saw on resellerrating.com that, that website and vendor is not good. It got 1/10.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good website to get customizable glass coasters for wedding favors

Most people will tell you to skip any personalized favors. Most people will leave them. I don't have any use for items with someone else's name/wedding date on it. If you really want a favor, do something edible.

I've never seen this at a wedding I've attended. I did a little research and noticed that they range in price from $.60 to $3.75 - and the pics look the same. I'm wondering if the inexpensive ones are not as pictured? Maybe you could order a small batch (half a dozen) and test the quality, since they'll be personalized and not returnable.

BTW, I know you're not asking for this advice, but... be prepared that you may have a LOT of them left behind. People increasingly don't take favors home at weddings I've attended, and many people here have the same experience. So if the idea of ending up with 2/3 of them left at the reception upsets one or both of you, I suggest you choose something else.

ETA: there are coasters that come up on Google that have the letters LOVE in a square, which are not personalized - these could also be returned if you have significant leftovers, since they're not personalized.

We got ours from beau-coup.com. They were around $0.95 each and are very good quality. I'm very satisfied with them Smiley smile

I second the idea that I wouldn't take a single personalized coaster home. I have no use for it.

I would reconsider something edible or something useful (Non personalized)

We are giving out 2 coasters for each guest. I am putting them in a box and tying them up with a nice ribbon. Our DOC will be putting them on the tables beside each plate for the guests.

It sounds like you're really set on coasters, but I will join the others in saying that I wouldn't take a coaster either, unless you were very close and I truly wanted a momento. At the last wedding I attended they had two favors-personalized koozies and limoncello. The limoncello was gone, but tons of koozies remained. Only close family and friends took them. It would just stink to spend a bunch of money and put effort into finding them to just have them left behind....

We chose the most tasteful wedding coasters with a vintage picture of a bride and groom on them for the favors.

@Yourlilfig - but that's the thing. All our guests are close family --- all 100 of them. Smiley smile

I agree with most of the prior posters. For every wedding I've attended, that gave out personalized favors, I either didn't take it, or threw it out when I got home. And at almost all of them, I wished they had just put the favor budget into guest hosting (more/better food).

I'm sorry to the bride who already bought coasters ... But what are guests supposed to do with 2 coasters with YOUR names on them? Use them in their living room? Just being realistic...

Da I would not count cousins as close. I have more than 70 cousins myself and I wouldn't want stuff with their wedding info on them.

I guess you have a rare situation DA. We're only inviting 75 people, who I would consider close family and friends, but I still wouldn't see them wanting coasters in our preferred style, with our names and wedding date on them, in their home. When I chose coasters, I made sure they went with our living room style. I guess I could see Mom and Grandma keeping them, simply because it's a keepsake, but cousin Bill would likely toss them.

Don't be sorry... All is good. I get why some people do not think favors are a good idea. Even I have been guilty of throwing away favors when I get home from weddings... But I also have favors that I cherish and keep and use around the house, so I say it depends on what the favors are and who they are from. And honestly, I wouldn't really mind what my guests do with the favors. Its theirs to do what they want with. That's why I gave it to them.

The coasters we have aren't of us or our names. They are vintage picture. Super tasteful. My mom picked them.

I definitely agree that ordering one single coaster for each guest is just a... waste. Sorry! What in the world would anyone do with ONE coaster? Also, don't expect coasters with your names and wedding date on them to ever be used or displayed by anyone... except maybe your grandparents or parents. Its just too awkward of a thing to keep out in your home. I feel like most of those would get left behind or tossed out for sure

In my country people ask for more favors if you have lol - there's no such thing as leaving favors behind... Even the candles if you let them... Do whatever you want to do... I will use it...

I love favors too as long they don't have someone else's name on them. Not to sure where to suggest you shop though, I haven't had experience with any online favors.

Why would I want 2 coasters with your name on it?

Most coaster sets come in 8 now, except for the ones that are like 200 for four.

@Erin C - I WOULD count MY cousins as CLOSE... We all grew up together in the Philippines where family means not only immediate family, but cousins, second cousins, and so on... We are all now in the US and are closer than ever... Same thing with my FH who is Italian American, with a big happy family.... Don't presume to know our guests better than we do....

Also in our families, favors are expected at weddings as mementos so edible ones are not done..

@Michael F. - sorry to hijack your thread. Do what you think your guests will appreciate.... Like I mentioned before, I love how our favors came out. Smiley smile
