Gluten Free Brides

I'm just curious how many gf brides are on here and what your wedding plans are turning out like. I'll be 5 years on the diet this April and it's played a large part in wedding planning. I think the last thing any bride would want is to be gluttened on their wedding night. What menu options are you...

@Beth C. Check out Sweet Alis in Hinsdale. They're a dedicated gf bakery. Amazing options.

@FutureMrsD that's very nice of you. I was MOH in my friends wedding and everything she booked from the bridal shower to bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner and the wedding had food options for me. It was such a great feeling to be involved with everything and not miss out.

Gotta love ignorance. Nope JoRocka and the other people who liked your comment, there will be no sadness because we choose not to partake in cruelty and suffering for our special day nor do any of our guests feel that it's a sad meal that they can't eat meat or have an animal in their one meal.

MrsDavis, people do what is best for their wedding. As we are. We are ethical vegans. No one in our group of family and friends would expect us to serve anything non-vegan. We have been given nothing but support and love.

To OG Alecia, yes we have known since May after speaking to our venue.

This is what our reception would look like for the most part.

Buffet with 4 hours of wines, beer, sodas.

Hors d'oeuvres: fresh fruit, vegetables with salsa and humus, crackers,

    salad served individually

Buffet: fruit salad, applesauce, pasta salad

vegetables: fresh vegetable medley, Italian green beans

    potatoes: roasted red potatoes

entrees: grilled eggplant with marinara sauce,

quinoa with mushroom ragout and fresh herbs,

roasted cauliflower with chick peas and craisins over rice.

Our cake is from a local gluten free bakery and they made my graduation cake this past May as well as another cake this past September this time with blueberry filling. Really good. FH practically eats the majority of it lol.

We can't wait and neither can our guests.

Must love cats, that sounds awesome, and even my picky better half would be able to fill himself up.

I have a family member with celiac and several who are gf for other reasons, so there will be gf options available. My better half has some unusual food allergies that I suspect will be harder to accommodate, but we'll find a caterer who who make it work. Smiley smile
