Go on honeymoon immediately after or wait a week?

So FILs are paying for our honeymoon with hotel points, so we can choose from a couple options. Originally FH and I wanted to go to Italy, but the hotels were a little too expensive for their points. So, we decided on Spain which is just as great! I'm so excited and thankful. But we still have to chose because of the points, either go right after the honeymoon and get a garden view, or wait a week and get the ocean front view (which would still be separated by a pool). I personally don't care what view I have because it's frikin Spain and still awesome, and personally I'd prefer to go on a Honeymoon right after the wedding. But are there benefits for waiting a week?

We have a day after we get married to relax and make sure we have everything packed for the honeymoon. Married Saturday leaving Monday morning.

If you want to go right after you should go and enjoy yourselves whenever you want!

I would wait a week for the ocean view! It's not that long of a wait and you could get some stuff done around the house and relax before you leave!

I think this is a very personal choice. We are going immediately. We were going to put it off but we realized that going back to work on Monday would suck and we thought it would feel like just another vacation if it wasn't directly after our wedding.

Ocean view is nice, but so is garden view. Can you put a note in your reservation requesting an ocean view room if they have a cancellation?

We're actually waiting almost a month, for several reasons, but I don't want to feel like I have to rush off to catch a flight right after the wedding. And I don't want to have to worry about packing AND getting ready for a wedding.

We're actually waiting 9 months Smiley sad FH just started a new job and can't get that much time off.

I would wait for the upgrade if I were you.

I would go right after, if I couldn't get that extra week off work.

We're waiting ten days. I wasn't thrilled about it at first but now I am. It'll give me time to catch up on my work before I leave because let's be honest, the week of the wedding, i'm probably not doing much. LOL. Also, I couldn't imagine having to pack for HM while planning the wedding! So now I'm glad we have to wait.

I am waiting 6 months. Stupid school schedule. Some people want to go right away, some people want to relax after the wedding for a bit before taking off. It just depends on which side you and your FI come down on.
