Going dress shopping alone...anyone else?

I went alone for most of my wedding stuff. Kills out the extra opinions and gives the element of surprise. I bought the first dress I tried on. And can't wait to wear it

If you are in southern California I will go with you. I am in a VERY similar situation so I just took my daughter.

I took my bad self to try on dresses a few times. It worked out well. No pressure from family or friends and I got to try on what I wanted. I was also able to try on more dresses than typically allotted in the appointments, given that I didn't have entourage opinions slowing down the process. Embrace and enjoy the freedom!!!!

I don't have any true friends anymore ESP since all I do is work and go to school raise my son. I need gfs ;(

The consultants are really good about giving feedback, chitchatting during the appointment, listening to what YOU want out of a dress etc. I think it could be fun and relaxing to just go by yourself! Don't think of it being lonely, it will still be fun! Just think of this as YOUR time to have a good day. Maybe treat yourself to a coffee on the way, make it a fun day for yourself that no one can come in and ruin with unwelcome opinions or overwhelming advice!

I went alone and it was wonderful. I know what I like and I'm glad I didn't have a bunch of opinions to deal with. I said yes to the dress with a random DB employee. I thought about taking my daughter and my FSD but I decided to do it on my own. Best decision. Good luck. Enjoy the quiet.

I went dress shopping twice before finding the one. First time I went with my MOH and the second time I went alone. It wasn't a big deal to me. My mom lives across three country and most of my friends are in a diff state. I found my dress when I was alone and was super stoked regardless of having an entourage or not.

I did!! I had the best time!!! I just didn't want the hassle of other people's opinions.

I was in foster care too.... ((((HUGS)))) from one foster sister to another. You should post where you are and let these ladies be there for you, if they/we can.

Sorry for not posting sooner. I went to my appointment by myself. I ended up messaging with my sister and getting her opinion. It was a really great appointment. My consultant was great and she really listened to what I liked and what I didn't like. I enjoyed myself. I tried on a lot of dresses and found 2 that I really liked. Due to them being above my budget, I was not able to say yes. But I loved them so much. Going to find another boutique and see what I can find there. Thank you so much everyone! I really appreciate you all offering to come with me. It means so much. I have to say, this is such a loving and welcoming board. This has been proven to me time and time again. <3

I am so glad you had a good experience. I did most of my wedding planning alone. FH were long distance while planning, and my family just wasn't involved. It was hard when I needed support, but the ladies here always made me feel better.
