Good, cheap iced tea?

So ya'll convinced me to add iced tea to our beverage selection- but I don't drink iced tea. Any recommendations on good, cheap iced tea? Preferably something premixed, but we could make it ahead of time if we needed to. We will be using 2.5 gallon dispensers to serve it.

It would be a crime where I come from to buy tea, (where are all the southern girls out there right now, arent you screaming inside too?), its the easiest thing in the world to make and you can make gallons and gallons with little to no effort (depending upon how you like it) and its probably the CHEAPEST thing to make. Mixes are disgusting in my opinion, get some tea bags, Lipton is perfect, hot brew it (concentrated like Mrs. B to be said), then add water to taste (example, the more water you add, the weaker it gets, but that concentration goes a long way) I would leave it unsweetened for a large group but have plenty of sugar packets (alot) and artifical sweetner packets for people.

If you make it yourself and want to provide sweetener for your guests to add, I suggest making simple syrup instead of putting out granulated sugar. It's just sugar and water heated until the sugar dissolves. That way, it's not crunchy in the drink.

If I buy pre-made by the gallon I really like Arizona but I have a great recipe for homemade. I usually just make a giant pot of it by boiling water and adding red rose or tetly (sp?) tea, sugar, and then lemons. Once it is cooled I add some fresh mint sprigs. PM if you want a more detailed recipe.

Im going with karen. this is BLASPHEMY! you brew tea, you dont buy it!! Its a sacred beverage.

its so simple. do you have a big pot? boil water, add tea bags. Lipton.

agree with the simple syrup or just make 2 kinds of tea sweet and unsweet.

Do NOT add lemons, only half like lemons, the other half hate. Lemons can be added by the guest.
