Good Lord unity candles cost how much?!!

Mrs. Turner2B, on August 7, 2010 at 4:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

I'm seeing $30 for the candles..$30 for holders..that's insane to me. Anyone found any cheap ones. I'm not picky about this...it's gonna be used for a few minutes at the ceremony and that's it.

    We are using a 16" square vase (Micheals $12.00) floating candle on top ($3.00) flower sumerged inside vase. taper candle and holder on either side $3.00 each, small votive in front of vase, for lighting tapers by moms. Much cheaper and you can use the vases and candles again in your house.

    @Jess..that sounds so pretty!

    Btw....if there are any disney brides here...I just found a unity candle holder...the 2 side candles are horses and the middle candle is a carriage..so cute! For $5.50 including shipping! I think it would look odd for my theme.

    You can do hobby lobby or Michaels sign up for there coupons that come every other week and print it out and I think you get 40% off and so if they are 30 bucks there you could get them for 15

    Three of my fave letters will help you get away for a LOT cheaper...DIY

    Find a tall white unscented pillar candle for like $2 at Wal-Mart, find a low temp hot glue gun, any decor that you want to use (ribbons, crystal, etc) and decorate your own. That's what I'm in the middle of doing right now. I shall post pics when it's done Smiley smile

    I just went to bed bath and beyond today and picked up a white pillar candle and purple tapers. I am going to put purple ribbon on the white pillar and white ribbon on the purple tapers. I picked up 2 taper holders for $1.49 each and then a square glass plate for $2.99 for the pillar. I am going to put it all together and see how it looks, but it was A LOT cheaper !!

    Well I am going the DIY route on the candles too. My sister and I saw a Waterford crystal unity candle set on clearance at BBB for $25 it included white candles. SHe was sweet and bought it for me. I probally changing color of pillers and designing the unity candle itself to be something more our theme and us.

    I just got normal candles. The fancy pillar was $8.00 and the tapers $1.00 each. I bought glass candle holders for the tapers and flipped a glass over to hold the pillar. Here is mine before the rose petals where added to the table and everything centered. $16.00 total for candles and holders.

    Some brides have the Unity candel centered in a floral wreath for added color.

    If you are a member of a church or have a family member that is they may be able to borrow the holders from the church so you wouldn't have to buy that
