Are there any thrifty shoppers out there who are using, I mean "RE-USING" items from the thrift store for your wedding? I purchased a lot of my silk flowers, photo frames, and other interesting items from local stores. I've been scouring the Goodwill and ARC thrift stores for cute things to use for a "Country-style" wedding theme. It's amazing the things people don't want anymore. Thanks to all those who donate to your local thrift stores! I even found my dress at the ARC, when I wasn't looking for one! It's really pretty, and the beautiful thing about finding my dress there, was that my good friend was with me when I found it-- that made it extra special!

Hi Cliodhna, Yes, I actually had it sitting on a dresser until about a month ago. I've painted a wooden base and hot-glued the couple to it for quick and easy set-up on the cake. Yes, I plan on making a small cake for my FH and I to cut and share, and an assortment of mini cupcakes for the guests!

Wow, looks like you've found a treasure trove of beautiful items! You also sound like you're an antique aficionado! Are you going to have a shabby/chic themed wedding? You have time to keep looking for neat things---you never know what you'll find along life's journey! God bless you!

Hi Melle! Thank you! I chose that cake stand, because I really liked the design on the glass. There are lots of thrift stores around my area and most of them have plenty of nice items to choose from. It's just a matter of having the time to go shopping. Smiley winking Smiley love

Ha! I don’t know if I’m an aficionado, but I definitely appreciate a diamond in the rough. We are going for the shabby chic/vintage look. Very soft and romantic.

I have a vision of it all, with all the floral accents and personal touches. I am quite excited to see if all coming together.

My fiancé is very patient with my thrifting and DIYing. Bless his heart.

My fiancé is the opposite of a thriftier. But we balance each other out.
Yesterday I went to a different thrift store and scored some awesome plates for $8. I looked at the bottom of them when I got home and discovered some of it was Noritake China!
Today I went back and scored 30 identical wine glasses for $11!

It's a lot of fun to go GOODWILL HUNTING for a few of your wedding items. Sometimes you can find some awesome stuff, and sometimes it's a bust---but either way, you'll be glad you helped support the charities behind the thrift stores.
