Hi Cliodhna, Yes, I actually had it sitting on a dresser until about a month ago. I've painted a wooden base and hot-glued the couple to it for quick and easy set-up on the cake. Yes, I plan on making a small cake for my FH and I to cut and share, and an assortment of mini cupcakes for the guests!

Hi Melle! Thank you! I chose that cake stand, because I really liked the design on the glass. There are lots of thrift stores around my area and most of them have plenty of nice items to choose from. It's just a matter of having the time to go shopping.

Yesterday I went to a different thrift store and scored some awesome plates for $8. I looked at the bottom of them when I got home and discovered some of it was Noritake China!
Today I went back and scored 30 identical wine glasses for $11!

It's a lot of fun to go GOODWILL HUNTING for a few of your wedding items. Sometimes you can find some awesome stuff, and sometimes it's a bust---but either way, you'll be glad you helped support the charities behind the thrift stores.
