I think it would be awesome and be great footage of her walking down the isle and stuff. It would be a chest mount (I'm 6'4 and she's 5'4) that way we could get the best footage. Any ideas how I can convince her to let me wear it?

Having a GoPro smack in my face, no matter who is wearing it, would make me freeze up.

If the officiant can have it somewhere discreet I think it would be really cool!

Someone I know attached two goPros at both corners of their arch, it was hidden (didn't even know it was there) but they got decent footage of their ceremony. the volume was kind of iffy but for their personal memories I think it was a great idea and I'd do it if we had an arch. But a chest mount..no.

I'm planning to ask my brother to record the ceremony for us. (Before you all start jumping in my back about that, I know my brother. You don't. He would be sooo much more comfortable behind a camera, having something to do, than sitting still watching the wedding and not hviggg a task to do). That way we skip the expense of videographer, since neither of us want a lot of editing, or the storyline type wedding videos that seem to be popular, but we still have some video. If you have a friend or family member that wouldn't mind recording your ceremony, go for it!

I know I sound like an old fart, but your wedding is a sacred experience (even if it's secular), not a photo opp. Treat it as such.

I would really hate that idea if my FH said it to me. I think it would be unattractive to have a camera on his chest and then again he wouldn't be in the video at all just hearing his voice.

Haha, unfortunately I'm with her on this one. Sorry OP.

FH is requesting we hide one in the florals on our gazebo facing the dance floor. If it can be done without seeing it 100% I'm ok. Otherwise, he's out of luck.

I like the idea of a discreet camera on your jacket. We got a gopro mount for our dog to wear. We need to get him used to wearing it before the ceremony. The gopro has a case so I'm not worried about it possibly becoming dismounted.

DH and I are about the same height difference, and I would hate to have the camera right in my face during the ceremony lol. We had a 360 cam record our wedding Smiley smile what DH did was place it on a tripod and set it next to the aisle chair at the front row. He set it at about 5', that way it wasn't really distracting to everyone sitting in the back Smiley smile

This would make me really uncomfortable. I vote no.

Are you hiring a photographer and/or videographer?

Why don't you mount it to the alter?

Not sure about during the ceremony...but my friend had a GoPro on the selfie stick and people passed it around during the reception/dancing and got some really fun videos!
