We were supposed to get married June 13, 2020, but Covid. Prior to that date, we rescheduled with our venue for August 29, 2020 but as we got closer obviously realized that wasn't going to happen so we sent out cards saying it was postponed and to save our new date of June 26, 2021. Well we decided to have a small ceremony (just immediate family) on August 29, 2020 and honestly it was the best!! After our ceremony and looking at things now, we thought that even this coming June might not be possible so we talked to the venue and decided to cancel the reception all together.
So my question...what verbiage can I use on a mailed card (never made a website) to explain we got married but are deciding to cancel the reception?? I couldn't really find any samples online, all of them alluded to a reception in the future. Any thoughts or advice are appreciated!! I would like to include a picture from the ceremony but don't know what to say. Thank you in advance!
