I just got our engagement pictures back and I am so disappointed in the way I look. I feel like I look fat in every picture and I refuse to feel that way on my wedding day. I just got our engagement pictures back and I am so disappointed in the way I look. I feel like I look fat in every picture and I refuse to feel that way on my wedding day. Every thread on here about weight loss says the same thing, "eat less, move more" or "choose healthier eating options." The thing is, I do! I won't act like I never eat out, but it's usually once or twice a week at most. And even then, I watch my calorie intake. I exercise some, but I have back problems and I'm very limited at what I can do physically. I successfully lost weight when I started eating right, but I still hate the way I look in pictures. I want to be about 30 lbs lighter. I'm not sure if anyone else has gone through this, but I'd appreciate any advice you can offer. I really don't want to feel fat on my wedding day.

    I think you look great! We are our own worst critics. But I understand what you mean. When I saw my engagement pictures, I cried because I looked heavy in so many of them.

    We got our wedding pics back last week, and I love them! Of course I had some fab shape wear on under the dress that I wouldn't normally wear in real life, so that helped! But I felt much better about my appearance in the wedding photos.

    We are our own worst critics! Your pictures are beautiful!

    If you want to feel better about yourself, I suggest a couple things. First, eating out 1-2x a week is still a LOT. Maybe 1-2x a month. Secondly, I suggest tracking your meals. My husband has started doing that and if you are honest about your portion sizes and vigilant about it- logging snacks, drinks, etc. - it is very eye-opening! It is helping us eat proper portion sizes and cut down on snacking and desserts after dinner. Finally, join a gym and meet with a trainer - even Planet Fitness has this service and its free! They can develop/customize a workout program for you with your back issues.

    @LauraM, we all agree your pics look great, but a lot of us are dealing with the same emotions about our weight as well. I have struggled with my weight for years! A couple of years ago, I lost about 50 pounds without really exercising (I have knee and back problems). For me, carbs are my weakness! To lose weight, I followed a diabetic diet. Basically, I cut my carbs to about 30 grams per meal and to snacks with no more than 15-18 grams of carbs a day. I also kept a food log and weighed and measured everything! I read all of the labels to ensure I was eating the correct serving size for each food I put in my mouth!

    My biggest advice is to look at what you are eating and see what your trigger foods are...each of us are different and our bodies react differently to food. Take what we are saying and use what works for you!

    @LauraM you're so pretty!! I agree with the other ladies. You're definitely being too hard on yourself and we all are seriously our own worst critic.

    I myself am also having problems with my weight but my problem is I'm too skinny. I was happy with where I was because I was average weight for my height but I just recently dropped so much weight in the last couple months that now I look super unhealthy (90 lbs, WAS 88 lbs!!). Like anorexic. I didn't intentionally try to lose weight. I have Rheumatoid Disease so I think it might have something to do with that or maybe it's the medication they put me on. Idk. I just know it's so ugly and I hate it! Doesn't help that people keep reminding me by saying stuff like "you got so skinny" "you lost so much weight" "you need to eat more" and my mom "you need to eat more so you get a little fatter or you're not going to look pretty in your dress" Ugh. Gee thanks mom. No pressure. I want to look beautiful and healthy for my wedding in Sept not like a Skelton in a dress. I've tried eating a lot but nothing works. I'm super stressing about it which is making me break out like a high schooler so I understand how you feel when it comes to not being happy or comfortable with how you look or how u look in pictures (even though I think you're beautiful).

    I have friends that use essential oils and had a lot of success with losing weight on them and they didn't have to work out or diet. I'm PammiLe on FB if you wanna see. But the pics came out nice so don't stress. Stressing will make u break out! Lol And you'll look beautiful on your day. When you have your hair and makeup done and you're in your dress, you'll feel like a princess ;o)

    I would try WeightWatchers. It's really expensive but I have found it really works for me when I commit to it. The first time I lost about 30 pounds with it. Then gained some of it back throughout the years. Then I did it again and lost 15 pounds. Nothing else works for me if I want to lose more than a few pounds. I recommend trying it.

    Your pics are beautiful. You look so happy. I understand how you feel, I don't take photos because I have gained so much weight. I also have back issues so can't really do alot of cardio but I walk and try to get 10000 steps in. Since I can't exercise I watch what I eat, no sodas, only water, fast food only when we go on long trips which is once or twice a month. I haven't lost any weight but I'm going to focus on our day celebrating with our loved ones. We are our harshest critics, I think you look beautiful. We have to tell ourselves that.

    I felt exactly the same way. But know what? This is what I look like. I lose weight when I'm unhappy. I'm soooooo happy. I gained weight. Worth it.

    You look great but I know how you feel... Before I started my job (warehouse job) I was at my heaviest at 235 and I still feel that I look 235 but I have gone down a lot. One part is I'm constantly moving at work and walking. Now two was a health reason basically couldn't eat anything bad because I had gallstones and the pain was unbearable for me and of course had to have surgery. I still eat bad but I try to watch it more and still can't eat certain things as I get pain still. I think you look amazing though...we really are our own worst critics I certainly am and nit pick at every part of my body but I have gotten better at loving myself sure still trying to improve but my advice is definitely love the skin your in and own it cause your beautiful.
