Got our Fabric!

I have been spazzing about Bridesmaid attire ever since I asked my 2 girls to be my attendants. My sister - I love her dearly and we are super super close - is total opposite of me in fashion tastes and my 'sister of my heart' is JUST like me. Trying to find something that we all liked was just proving too stressful (mostly me, because even though my sis SAYS 'whatever you want', in my heart I know she would be uncomfortable) Sooooo, since we all sew, I started looking for fabric and patterns. AND WE FOUND IT!! The wedding is 15 months away, so I sure had time, but OMG I am soooo relieved and both 'sisters' are super thrilled and excited. YAY!!! So below is the picture of the fabric(s) and then the next picture is the basic pattern we will go for ----- my sister will do the long sleeves (May in Florida @@) and my heart sister will do small cap sleeves, and the last picture is one I found online to kinda show the finished product (just not in my colors) NOW I can finally sit back and let the time fly before I have to start doing any more planning.

    That will look so gorgeous! I actually was just looking at a wedding the other day that had dresses made by the family that were quite similar to that and it looked AMAZING! Here it is..

    It makes me feel like the dresses I picked (which do have a pattern) will look the way I'd hoped and not just weird, haha!

    Ohhhhh, thank you for that picture!!! See, NOW I started worrying about flowers --- how would they look, would they clash or would the dress overlay overpower the flowers?!? (I seriously HAVE to stop this nit picky stuff LOL) ANYWAY ... that picture just totally alleviated THAT new worry. Smiley heart

    Haha, you're welcome! I actually think the flowers would look lovely if you pulled in some of the shades from the embroidered ones! It was so odd that I'd literally just been looking at this wedding yesterday when you posted this! Clearly meant to be!

    I love this so much!! Great work finding the fabric and pattern. I love the embroidered flowers with that color blue underneath. Those are going to look gorgeous.

    I'm in LOVE with colorful embroidered or applique flowers on tulle over a softer color (ivory, nude, champagne, blush). Did you find that fabric on Etsy?

    I just happened upon it at Joann Fabrics - and it was 50% off!! (so $14.00 a yard) The turquoise is a poly satin from Hobby Lobby ($4 19 a yard) With the notions, total cost for dress will be roughly $70.00. Most importantly, each girl will have the style (sleeves) they want.

    Yes, I am making the dresses my self. I'm a professional seamstress, so it's pretty much a piece of cake for me. LOL My sister, also a sewer, will make hers, but my sis of my heart is all thumbs. Smiley heart She comes down in May for a week-long visit, so I'll do the preliminary mock up then and alter anything that needs it before cutting out the 'real' fabric.
