I was wondering if anyone else here was in grad school and trying to figure out when to hold a wedding in amongst all the craziness of school?

Here is my conundrum: I want to really enjoy my wedding and everything involved. I also live in Texas, so the insanely hot weather rules out most summer months. So.. I'm trying to decide WHEN to have my wedding. Summer is when I am "off", but fall/spring would be so much nicer for pictures, et al.

FH and i already decided we're doing this indoors because of the weather and heat. Is it REALLY that big of a deal to do it in summertime?? Or.. what? I'm just agonizing over this, but I want to set the time and place before I get back into the thick of my dissertation writing. Help!

Also in grad school. I would do it over a break. We basically are in class year round and only get two weeks for break this year and one week next year (very intense program) so we decided to get married over my break next year.

It's tough planning a wedding while being in grad school, but it's doable. Set it for when you have a break and have plenty of time to actually plan it. If you plan on having it inside, I don't see why you can't do it in the summer

I work full time, and I'm in grad school. I am set to graduate in December though, so I planned our wedding for next summer so I'll have a good 7 months of planning once I'm done school! It's been tough so far, I've done a lot this summer. If summer is ideal for you and it's indoors anyway, go for it!

I would say do it in summer with an indoor ceremony.

My friend got married the week before spring break, took an absence Monday, went to class Tuesday-Friday, and then went on her honeymoon over spring break.

I also reside in Texas, attending grad school and have a pretty stressful career, however I was able to plan a wedding. We planned it over a year and a half to save enough money where everything would be paid in cash and made some other sacrifices but it's doable. My wedding is next Saturday and I must say even though it was a lot of work juggling everything I am happy our day is around the corner.

I've been to 2 texas weddings in July, one indoors and one with the ceremony outdoors. I had a great time at both, but I personally would aim for all indoor.

Summer in Texas is doable, to me, though.

I've worked full time throughout law school. I have one class left now, so luckily I'll be done soon. It can be overwhelming to plan and go to school and work. Just take things a day at a time and I would plan for doing it before a break, that way if you opt for a honeymoon, you can take your time with that on the actual break.
