Grand Exit alternative?

futuremrspst, on April 13, 2016 at 1:51 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Does anyone have any ideas, preferably on the cheaper side? Our venue prohibits use of sparklers. :/ TIA!

We aren't allowed to have sparklers either. We're doing bubbles instead.

Alternative..... we just left in a regular fashion

I'm personally not a fan of grand exits. Have you been to a wedding with one?

I find them so staged and fake. Its so strange to me to watch the bride and groom walk out sooooo slowly to get that perfect photo in between the bubbles, while the guests are grudgingly there and had to leave their drinks before they were ready Lol. I seem to be in the minority though as they are quite popular. If you haven't seen one in real life... they are odd.

We have so many OOT friends that we won't have seen for awhile, that we plan to bar hop with them after the reception is over. So we are leaning towards not doing a grand exit becuase it wont be the last time we see so many people that night....

I agree with PPs that a grand exit from the reception can be kind of jarring for the guests. I would consider doing some sort of special exit from the ceremony instead. In that instance, I love bubbles. But that's just because they look awesome in photos.

Bubbles are the way to go, they are inexpensive and look so lovely.

Hmm, I never thought about doing one for after the ceremony. I mean, I've seen it in pictures but haven't thought about doing it till now. If you didn't do a grand exit, how did you leave your reception?

We planned a grand exit and we waited too long because there was no one left to do it. Our wedding was on a Sunday so people had to get up early for work the next day. We stuffed 300 bags full of silk rose petals for everyone to throw at us while we were leaving but it never happened.

I loved our idea of rose petals of different colors while exiting, especially for pictures.

You can also get your photographer to take a "bride&groom" walking into the distance holding hands at your venue picture, so it looks like your private grand exit as man and wife.

My grand exit will be getting FH on the school bus back to the hotel so we can continue the party either at a bar or in the hotel!

How about a "Last Dance"? DJ announces it, the Bride and Groom start it off and then the DJ invites the rest of the guests out onto the dance floor.
