Grand Exit Ideas?

Brandi, on October 7, 2019 at 3:34 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 27

Hi Friends,

I'm back again! What are some ideas for the grand exit at the close of the reception?

Are you just having one final dance, closing of the bar roll car, bubbles or horns?

What's some creative ideas?

Will the bubbles be your wedding favor too?

I suppose they could count as that lol, we've decided to skip wedding favors altogether!

I think we will do sparklers since our venue allows them outside. A good photographer can get some really cool pics with sparklers at night!

We did one last dance with our immediate families inside while everyone else was outside getting ready for the send-off. This allowed us to say goodbye in a more intimate setting. Then, as we ran out, we had dried lavender thrown.

I didn't do that for reception but I did for ceremony and also used bubbles and what PP said bubbles would make for a good party favor too or glow sticks, even.

Right. We’re still playing with the wedding favors idea but I definitely think bubbles could act as one lol.

I had one final dance but by the time this came there wasn’t many guest left in the reception since guest were already getting in the shutters. It was short, sweet and intimate but funny because some of our friends came in so the video we have is actually funny.

We aren’t planning on having a send off. We will be there until the guests leave BUT we are also doing it at a friends home. What we are doing is right after the ceremony, we are taking his uncle (also a pastor and our officiant) and a photographer and we are doing a quiet prayer time for us in a private area.

Our wedding is a surprise so the guests wont know until the day of. So, while we are gone, my bridesmaids will be setting out our guestbook and other wedding items we’ve chosen as well as getting our wedding games set up.

What time did your reception end? I keep hearing that people leave before the actual end time. Mine ends at 8.

Part of me is super confident we can pull this off but the other part of me is in full panic of “what if”. But... for the vibe we want, we cannot think of any other way to do it other than a surprise wedding.

We are going to get married on Easter because we always host an Easter event but may be changing it to the day before. I’m just thankful I have that flexibility.

My reception ended at 12 and by that time we still had almost all the guest. Only one shutter left and not even 10 guest were in it which were the older people. By the time our last song hit the guest were still at the venue starting to get in the shutters but just not on our dance floor.
The people that are in the dance floor are usually the last one to leave. Elderly leave after cake so it depends on the crowd you have.

I was contemplating either a sparkler-last-photo send-off or a second line send-off since we are having a New Orleans theme.
