Grand Exit - Yea or Nay?

Sinéad, on November 5, 2019 at 11:05 AM

Ok, your wonderful day is coming to an end and it’s time for you and your new spouse to go! Do you have a fun exit planned? Will your guests set out your path with sparklers, bombard you with bubbles or cover you in confetti? Or will you sneak out in a more low-key way? Are you doing a grand exit?...

Are you doing a grand exit? Yea or nay??

I've never seen this at a wedding reception usually this is done when they leave the ceremony site and everyone has to travel to the reception at a different site. I was planning on a last dance about the time the bar closes. We leave after without anything special, my guests can then finish their drinks and the staff can clean up. Most end of weddings I've seen it is already chaos about where the gifts are going, where/if there is an after party so trying to get my guests to line up/gather for a final photo op isn't something that's on my list of wants.

Haven’t decided on the grand exit yet. I love the idea of bubbles or sparklers as we exit.

We haven't discussed it yet, but I love the idea of lavender as we exit the ceremony site. However, I do not want to do a grand exit from the reception because I'm hoping to do an after-party.

It's such a beautiful idea! Especially if your photographer is still around to get some beautiful shots!

I would definitely recommend you discuss this with your venue before making a final decision so ensure that sparkers are allowed😊

Will probably do for the ceremony. But out reception is in the same place, so it wouldn't matter too much.

I would like to have a big flashy send off but my FH and I haven't discussed it yet, so who knows. I did purchase bubbles as wedding favors for the guest, maybe they will use them.

Yay! I think it's a fun way to end the night and have everyone fawn over the couple for one last time!

The grand ceremony exit was enough for us! Didn't feel like we needed another grand exit.

It’s a NO for us! We’re the hosts of the celebration, so we plan to stay until the end and not leave before our invited guests. Also I hate the staged choreography of rounding up guests, with the DJ announcing over the speakers to stand in a certain location etc. etc.
