Grandma in law birthday

Emma, on October 15, 2020 at 1:44 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 10
So I posted earlier about my issue and now I gotta go to my grandmother in law birthday... any gift that I have gotten her she have never used! A Michael Kors purse, Alex and ani bracelet, a Diamond necklace. Any advance on what I can get her from me and my fiancé?! Apparently nice stuff from us she won’t wear. I wish I had the option to not go and not get her anything. But my fiancé trying to be the bigger person

Why doesn't your FH buy her gift? It's his grandma.

Because we have an agreement if he pays, I’ll find something. And I have asked him and he doesn’t know what to get her. I know she’s a drunk. But how many wine glasses or wine can someone get everywhere

You can both skip the party. It's not a summons. He can purchase a very inexpensive gift.

If you absolutely must, which you don't under any circumstances, go with food. A box of chocolates or something. Don't spend money who doesn't appreciate your time and effort.

Perhaps a grocery store gift card?

Oh my. She is hard to please, or at least that's what it sounds like! Sounds to me like the perfect person to give gift cards to! Put one in a nice card and she can use it on whatever she wants!

I don't understand this. It's your fiance's grandmother; he should be picking out the gift. Not "you do the work and I'll pay for it". His family, his effort, his money.

This. Especially given the fact that she's so nasty to you to begin with. I help my husband come up with Christmas/birthday gifts for his family, but I like them and usually come up with good ideas that they like.

Flowers and or chocolates, every year. Honestly though, I have never seen the need to give or receive gifts for birthdays after reaching adulthood. A card is enough in my opinion.
