Grapes and grape vines

Ali, on June 12, 2018 at 9:34 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3
Does anyone know what the presence of grapes and/or grape vines used in bouquets and decor means? I have a few ideas for the usage in our decor and I just want to know if there is a meaning or something with them. Neither of us is religious so grapes being in the bible doesn't really mean a lot to us. We aren't getting married at a Vineyard either, so. I just think they would look nice. Thanks in advance!!

Quoted from an old thread here on WW

"Grapes have many significant meanings in the bible and in christianity including fruitfullness, gladness, and ripe harvest. Not least of these the symbol of the wine our Lord used at the Last Supper to consecrate into his precious Blood."

"Abundance and Health, to have a full bunch of grapes signifies abundance and a good crop. A sickly grape bunch with small grapes would be the opposite, meaning famine and sickliness.

A second meaning is Wealth and Class. Wine has always been associated with the rich and wealthy, bringing to mind the Ancient Greeks and Romans lounging around and being fed grapes by hand from beautiful women or handsome men... usually with a glass of wine close by for a refreshing drink.

"In the mythology of many ancient cultures, the grape, and the grapevine, is regarded as sacred. From an exoteric principle, the symbolic meaning of grapes relate to abundance, transformation and fertility. However, an understanding of the esoteric meaning sheds more light on their use in ancient symbolism."
