Grocery store flowers

starsinwaves, on January 3, 2018 at 6:28 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 12

Flowers are super low on our priority list so I'm very much interested in getting them from Publix. I've heard good things about getting flowers through a grocery store, but I'm curious on pricing. It's been hard to find much online and I know I can't get specific prices, but am looking for a more general idea. If you got your flowers from a grocery store, how much did you spend? Was it worth the cost savings over a traditional florist? I'm only looking to get bouquets for myself and 7 BMs, flower girl petals, and perhaps bouts if FH wants them. I do not want any part of DIYing flowers. Hoping to spend around $300 and am wondering if this is realistic.

I’m having my flowers done through Publix, I’m paying $125 for my bridal bouquet, $55 for each bridesmaid bouquet, and around $17 for each bout. $300 is probably not possible, my florist there said her cheapest bridesmaid bouquets (all hydrangeas) was $45 each. But it was significantly cheaper at Publix compared to a local florist, so it’s definitelt worth a consultation there.

You could probably ask the flower shop in the store if its possible to make as many small bouquets as you need (dont mention wedding as the word will drive sales price up) if they dont you may have to set some $ aside and wait until the day before the wedding to make them as store flowers have a tendancy to not last long at all.

My friend got hers from Kroger. I'm not sure of the price but she was pleased.
Look at some pictures. I spent $700 at a florist, which my mom insisted was my only choice. My mom was not happy with the price but the second they showed up the day of the wedding she took it all back, and said it was worth every penny. I let my florist do what she wanted, I'm not a flower person, and I was in love with all of my flowers.

Check out the wedding flower packages on the sams club website. They are surprisingly cute. I'm not doing it because i was worried about logistics of keeping them alive but you might have a plan for that

Fiftyflowers.com has a 'ready to go' section with a lot of choices for premade centerpieces, corsages, boutienierres, etc. I think you could find something in your price range there!

I am getting my flowers from Costco. The option I'm going with is 10 pre-made bouquets for $99. I only need 5 bouquets so I'm going to break down the others to make bouts and centerpieces.

Those are beautiful! I'm worried about doing flowers from a website though with keeping them alive and such. I feel much better about having my stepdad or FFIL go down to the store to pick them up the morning of.

The reviews I read said the flowers arrived fresh and many of the buds still closed. You do have to put them in a bucket of water in a dark place. Most people said they lasted over a week.

From the picture, it looks like they are held together with a rubber band, so I assume you can break them apart. I found them under the Bulk Flower category on Costco's website. They are titled, 10 Mountain Bouquets. I clicked on the color choices and found the purple arrangement. I am also thinking about getting the pre-made centerpieces. There are 9 centerpieces for $119.00 or 18 European Mini Bouquets for $99.99. The mini bouquets would be easy to put into small vases and make centerpieces.
