Groom in Jeans!?!?

LadyHopkins, on January 30, 2012 at 10:54 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

So today SO decided that he is wearing jeans to our wedding. I'm open to him being comfortable and being himself but I must admit, I am nervous. We are having a casual outdoor wedding in a park so I guess its doable. Have you ever seen this done? For the ladies having super casual weddings, would you let your FH do this?

If we were having a more casual wedding absolutely. He loves being comfy and I think that given the fact that you are also in a chocolate colored dress, you clearly aren't going for super formal. I think it will work great.

I have to say, while I have been telling everyone that they're free to wear exactly what they want, this would make me itch a little. As much as I love my man in diamond gusset wranglers, I wouldn't want to miss him in a three-piece suit on our wedding day.

Are you concerned for the sake of the pictures, the guests, or yourself? If its the pictures you can always have him wear the dress pants first then change. If its the guests then who cares (not to be flippant) but this day isn't about them its about you two. And if its you...then only you can really answer that.

A couple that was in our marriage counseling class did this. Hes a big cowboy and honestly i think it really went well with their theme and them as a couple.

I think it would look great if your FH and his GM's al wore a darker wash jean ( or all the same color really) if your really not sure about it dont do it, you dont want to regret it later.

No I wouldn't, but here's why. I feel weddings whether casual or formal, do not call for jeans ... if we had had a more casual wedding, I would of let him wear khakis and a button down shirt but no ... we only have one wedding day and I wanted to see my DH in a tux ... but that's just me ...

Now if you can honestly tell yourself you are comfortable with this idea, then let it be and have fun. Most guests will not care as long as you pass it along that the wedding is super casual ...

My cousin got married in her backyard, and her husband wore shorts and a nice short sleeve button down and she wore a sundress, for them it was perfect. The rest of us knew this in advance so we wore casual clothes ... I wore a jean skirt and a nice top but others were in jeans and tshirts ... so it is definitly doable ...

We have already told everyone coming that our wedding is super casual. And now that I think about it, I have no problem with him wearing jeans. I'm more concerned about what other people such as my grandmother would say. And since it is our day, I know I shouldn't be concerned with what others may think. Wow! I think I'm going to marry a guy in jeans. Cool =)

I feel that if it's important to him to be comfy then hey so be it....this is you all's wedding and it should be about what's important to you two, not about what everyone else thinks and may say....as the saying goes opinions are like @#$%^&*(, and we all have them, but that doesn't make any one person right or wrong, it's just that an opinion! I say go for it!!!!

Idk I think that the only way this would possibly work is if your dress is somewhat casual...IMO

I think it would be appropriate for a casual wedding. You can have them in really nice shirts and jeans. You could make it fun with it too.

I think there are some set of rule sets for what to wear in what circumstances. But it should be the individual choice in what dress they feel relax and comfortable. If you ask me i would say i like best bootcut jeans.

Love the look. Have seen it multiple times in the Texas Hill Country. I think it's great for a park wedding. My daughter is doing this, even wearing boots with her wedding dress.
