Groom's cake alternatives???

JennySford, on May 6, 2014 at 12:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Ok FH does not like cake whatsoever. Yes, I know guests would still enjoy it. He's actually not fond of sweets other than peach cobbler. I would love for him to have something to enjoy tho. Would it be weird to substitute the cake with peach cobbler??? Any other ideas???

Nope! Go for peach cobbler! You could serve it at your rehearsal dinner if you wanted to share.

My FH and I are both 'sweets' people and our plan is to have a dessert table, lots of our favorite desserts in mini form.

My FH loves napoleans so we're having a plate of them for his "groom's cake". Go for the peach cobbler!

The bakery we're using makes a cookie bucket... I can't find a picture but it's basically a big cookie in the form of a bucket filled with smaller cookies.

I don't understand the idea behind the grooms cake. Why even have one? If he doesn't like cake then just skip it all together.

(If you have some time please explain this tradition to me as I don't get it)

Idk either. I just don't know anyone who has ever skipped this and wasn't sure if I should replace it with what he likes. Guests can eat the big cake, although I'm sure some will eat both. Lol

Nope. Not at all. FH isn't a big sweets person, but he likes cheesecake, so that will serve as our groom's cake.
