Grooms cake display

For those of you planning to have a grooms cake at the reception, how do you plan on displaying it? I was originally going to have it at the RD but I like the idea of everyone getting to see it. We have our cake on it's own table and a dessert bar next to that. Would it look silly to have it on the dessert bar. It's an Oakland A's themed cake which doesn't really go with the formality of the other desserts.

The picture below is the inspiration. It'll be two tiers though and have personalized bobbleheads on top.

    I think it would be fine at the dessert bar. Also, that is really cool and I LOVE those bobble heads.

    Although, being from the bay too, I would prefer a giants cake Smiley winking

    @Swin- NO!!! LOL!

    Yeah I think dessert table is fine. My baker is worried that the green and yellow will clash with the navy blue macaron. Not all the desserts need to match though. The fruit tarts have red and blue, the chocolate mousse is brown. I think it's fine.

    Mine will have its own table near our main cake. It will be a full size 49ers helmet. The table will have the team colors for decor.

    I think on the dessert table would be perfect!! That is an adorable cake. I am doing one that reflects FH's love of motorcycle racing.

    We will be placing with the the wedding cake. I like the idea of being them with each other and we are placing it on the cake stand we had originally purchased for the cake but no longer using it for the cake.

    Thanks everyone! I think having it at the wedding on the dessert table is what I am going to do. I'm excited for everyone to see it!

    So now that I am not having cake at the RD, do you think I need some sort of dessert?

    Well, Captain Holt on Brooklyn Nine Nine says, "There is no good dessert. If you were still hungry, you should have had more dinner" lol Smiley tongue

    Unlike Captain Holt, I do think you need something after the entree to signal "dinner has ended," but since it's the rehearsal dinner, that can just be like hot chocolate and cookies or fresh fruit, it doesn't need to be a whole big thing.

    I'm glad you're having the cake at your wedding as the dessert table centerpiece because it's so cute and also those bobbleheads are amazing!

    Ours will be on the same table as our wedding cake. So the Star Trek Enterprise will be right next to our formal 4-tier wedding cake. It's a perfect combination of us, so I love

    Mine will have its own little table. Our wedding is in an area where grooms cakes are the norm, so our venue has that covered.
