Groom's Cake Question.

I'm going to surprise Fiance with grooms cake. It's a while away, but I was just curious - If you are doing a Wedding cake and a Grooms cake does one usually include the overall count for both cakes? Ex: If i have 100 people do I have a wedding cake that would feed maybe 70 and the grooms cake feed 30? Or is the wedding cake going to be for 100 people and then add on a grooms cake for an extra 20 or 30 people? I know this is something I could just email a wedding cake vendor, but I figured I would ask here since I am still haven't decided on a wedding cake vendor. Thank you so much in advance and I hope my questions makes sense!

Giving my FH his grooms cake at our RD, but I would assume you combine them to get your guest count?

The baker we're talking with said the groom's cake is usually extra, especially if it's a different flavor. People are more likely to want to sample both.

He also has a good formula to figure out how much cake to get, if you're doing a full dinner. Take the number of invites sent times 2 and then subtract 20%. Most people will want cake but some will not after a meal.

We are doing the groom's cake at the wedding and we are dividing the amount between the two cakes.

This isn't our groom's cake exactly but an inspiration. FH loves Superman. We're having it at the reception and are going to have to-go boxes so that guests can take home an extra slice of cake.

We had the groom's cake at the reception and just counted those servings into the total amount of cake we would need.

I'm doing 2 cakes at the wedding. Our grooms cake is going to be shaped like a poker table with cards and chips. I also incorporated the sports teams he likes on the cake. Our grooms cake will feed about 40 and then our wedding cake will feed 100. We will have about 130 there. I love the idea of 2 cakes and I know my FH will love the fact that I included him since he basically gave me free reign on everything else. Have fun with it!!!! I enjoyed designing his cake more than the weddong cake! Lol

I am surprising fh with a grooms cake he's loves Dallas cowboys he even tells me he has jerry Jones on speed dial lol lol I told him it wasn't in our budget for another cake but I lied I can't wait to see his face .. I am either going to do a Star , or football helmet or even jersey shaped cake with Dallas colors
