Groom's Cookie Cake Ideas?

Question....when are you having the cake? I want to get FH a grooms cake, and don't know if I should surprise him at the reception with it! I'd decorate with a few borders maybe?

We're going to have it served with the main cake (or right after, need to figure out logistics). I love the idea of surprising at the reception though! I've just always seen it at the wedding and I thought it would give guests an alternative dessert option.

I'm doing one but with his favorite sports team.

Awesome idea! We are having just one flavor of cake (3 tier) so that's a good option! I don't know if I'd write on the cookie, might seem Birthday partyish if that makes any sense at all. Maybe decorate the whole thing with your colors in icing?!?

FH wants a funfetti cake with rainbow chip frosting.... *eye roll* lol I was thinking of making one for these RD and letting him have it there. Or maybe his mom will since she's a better baker than I am (yes even with box cakes I'm pretty bad lol) I am not 100% on that yet though - it depends on if who we get our cake from is willing to make a small round one for him to have or not...

Does he have a favorite sport or team? A favorite movie? Maybe a favorite superhero? Something like that?

So I just ordered a cookie cake for a grooms cake this week from great American cookie. We will be serving it at the rehearsal dinner. And I am having them do a race car with a guy in a race suit and a bride holding a checkered flag on it. He loves racing and it's something we both enjoy so I went with that.

Red- I wish it was that easy! He doesn't really have a sports team. His hobbies are guns and men's fashion, haha. I've been racking my brains to think of something that would work that shows off his personality, but I think he'd rather have more of a "generic wedding" themed cake.
