Grooms Crying

I think it's really touching when a groom cries at the wedding. My FH claims he will not cry. Did your husband cry? If not what was his reaction?

Weddings are funny beasts though - I've seen plenty of people who NEVER cry or even get emotional get totally choked up at them. My sister is so cool and collected in everyday life, and could barely get through her vows she was crying so much.

FH says he won't but we will see. I can definitely see my dad and brothers crying though.

I cry at the drop of a hat. FH; I've never seen it. Close, but no cigar. I think he will. I'm picturing us both bawling our eyes out and not being able to get through the vows. Thank God for a patient Officiant!

I picture my FH with a huge grin. He is a goof ball and also giggles when he is nervous (hopefully he won't be too nervous lol). I'd be surprised if he cries/tears up.

I cry at game shows. So I know I will be a blubbering mess. He gets emotional when it comes to us all the time, so I know he will cry at some point. We actually have a $20 bet to see who will cry first. I'm really gonna try and hold out, but deep down, I know he will probably win. Although I am certain he will cry. Because of our bet, we aren't doing a first look. Haha.

The only time I've ever seen my FH cry was when his old 12 year old cat that he raised from a kitten he found on the side of the road died. And we've had a baby together too, no tears from ultrasounds or even the birth of our daughter. Lol so I seriously doubt he will cry at our wedding. But I'm sure I'll do enough for both of us.

Hate it when brides say, "mine BETTER CRY". Anyways...

Did you guys have tissues? Who held them?

I think FH will cry, and if I'm not already crying by then, I will be after.

I would love if FH cried but, to be honest, I've never seen him cry in our 4.5 years together. That's not true, he got something in his eye at the end of American Sniper when they were showing real footage from the funeral. But I don't expect him to at all. But I can't say I won't just totally melt if he does since he isn't emotional it will really get to me if he is on that day. But I'm not setting myself up to be disappointed. I am setting myself up to just take in everything on that day rather than putting some silly stipulation and pressure on it.

On the other hand, I am fully prepared to be a mess. I am not an emotional person either but some sort of checmical reaction happened when we got engaged. Now I tear up when I listen to the song I'm walking down to or our first dance song. My dad can't even get through the first 3 words of prayer before dinner so I know he will be a MESS. Might as well give him a king size sheet for a hankie. lol

My FH had tears when he was proposing to me, so I can pretty much guarantee there will be tears at the wedding. My FH is sensitive and I love that about him!

Pictures of grooms seeing their brides for the first time are my absolute favorite (27 Dresses, anyone?)...I told my photographer that it's one of my absolute must have pictures!!

I tell my couples that they each should have a handkerchief (not a pocket square). Some of the biggest, toughest looking guys have been the ones that cried (surprisingly, their brides didn't). Those who tell me they won't cry -- do.

Neither of us cried. DH got a bit teary at one point during the ceremony but I whispered "don't you dare" and he held it back. I knew if he started crying I'd turn into a blubbering mess.

My husband is not an outwardly emotional type person, but as soon as he saw me and all through our ceremony he was crying, especially during my vows. I had to give him my tissue I thought I would need.

    I second @Kathryn's question!

I do like @Nancy T's suggestion... might have to look for some handkerchief's.

I don't expect mine will. I kind of hope he doesn't. He's just not that way and it would be weird.

My FH started to cry the other night when we were going thru various processional music selections. He definitely will. I'm too stubborn to deal with emotion in public.
